Let me guess, the thread author was in the high school band. Injuries, my good man, injuries. Teams would be much more juiced to play against another team and much more likely to sustain an injury..and why in the world would the weaker team agree to that risk..

that's just not true. More bumps and bruises sure but actual injuries tend to happen more when guys are loafing it.

Cause knowing our luck we would schedule ULM, let them have a home game at WMS and lose.

At least it wouldn't count toward the season.

Just as if they were being scheduled for the regular season.......pay them money. You have just as much risk getting injured against a cupcake in the regular season as you would in the Spring. At least in the Spring the player would have a summer to heal....instead of missing 4 weeks in the season.

I'll take my chances talking football with you DS as I've seen your post history. I'd be willing to bet you've never even played high school football where scrimmages are often played against other schools before the season starts..and still the starters only play a couple of series..

at you thinking you know me based on a few td.com posts.

FWIW I played high school football for 2 years in the 90's in Arkansas and am well versed in the Jamboree experience both as a backup and as a starter.

You can not like my post history or whatever based on fan allegiances but to try to translate that into "oh well you must not know anything about football" is laughable and illogical.

It's a good way for the Universities to make some extra $$ and generate more hype around spring football. The ESPN networks would televise more spring games instead of showing drag racing and bowling. From my understanding, Les Miles doesn't want LSU games televised though and if he had it his way he would probably not have anyone attend.

Kickers don't count..but, alas, the idea would be exciting but not likely, although interesting..so there I'll give you that

I have always said this. What if we all went to New Orleans on a Wednesday for a spring jamboree that started Thursday and went thru the weeKend. We all played a quarter against other teams. That would be bad arse.

I would hate that, and most schools already have those kinds of games on the schedule.

Playing them in the Spring would be a good reason to get rid of the cupcake games on the regular schedule.

Because a coach could send his walk-on 8th string DE to cheap shot the other team's JFF.
