strictly for financial benefit. same for Mizzou.
In Oct 2019 I was staying at a Hilton property in El Paso, TX and the SECN was on my room tv. Having the state of Texas in the fold means big bucks.

SEC should've added Baylor, Houston or TCU i.e. schools who have top four finishes in major sports in the post-war era
