We might as well have been an independent in the 80's and 90's 
Historically means from the beginning of your teams inception, not since the 1960's when it just happens to fit your argument.
Fact is, USC is a few bad seasons from being under .500 in their all time record. That is not a "good" history.

They also made the most obvious hire of all time and were not afraid to scare him off.
If Mizzou announced any of the coaches playing this weekend as their new HC, it's possible that coach would turn away from the job because it distracts their current team.
Look no further than Herman and the USC rumors.

Missourians know who we are. We are blue collar hard working Americans. We stand up for what we believe in and take no BS off anyone. We have 2 of the best baseball teams in MLB, 2 good NFL teams, a good NHL team, a good MLS team, Northwest Mo State Univesity has 4 National Titles in Football. MU is good in football and will get better. MU basketball is down but will return. The Volleyball team is good, baseball is good, wrestling is good. Softball is good.MU has the best damn journalism school in the U.S. Hell we probably don't brag enough but one this is for sure we are not insecure. Insecure is when you have to post "Why does Mizzou think they're better than they are?" One last thing read a damn history book about the Civil War. I'll save you a bit of time watch Ride with the Devil.

Still better then UT since joining the SEC. If I'm a Vol fan, I would be pissed that a once football power is average at best. It must be tough hearing every Saturday how good your football program use to be.

In Mizzou's first season in the SEC, Mizzou had 1/4 of its starters hurt. We finished the season 5-7 and all the SEC folks said in the SEC your team has have a lot of depth. The next 2 years we rolled though the SEC on the way to winning the East title. Now the SEC fans are making excuses that the other teams in the East are hurt or down. In 25 years SC has won the east once. In 4 years Mizzou has won the east twice.
