Notre Dame would barely make a bowl each season if they had to play in the SEC West gauntlet year after year. None of your stats amount to diddly dick.

I find it amusing that you guys are quick to defend Notre Dame because you perceive it as a slight against Kelly. I'm sure the dude can coach just fine, but it doesn't change the subject that Notre Dame has gotten the benefit of the doubt more often than not.
I think Notre Dame is a has been program but I do agree with what Diddly is saying in this topic.
And I do think their schedule gets a lot of hate for being "weak" when it's actually pretty decent.
That has nothing to do with BK, it's just a football opinion.

Name them
2012: Georgia, Oregon
2020: Texas A&M
Everyone who watched the SECCG knew that was the real national championship game. Notre Dame wasn't even competitive with Alabama while Georgia almost won the game.
Hell, the 42-14 in the 2012 game isn't even indicative of how lopsided it was. Alabama was up 35-0 before ND got its first score.

What did they do to prove they belonged more than Notre Dame?

Everyone knew Georgia was better, but I said deserving. Any team that went undefeated with their schedule would make the Natty over 2-loss Georgia. It has nothing to do with them being Notre Dame.
As for A&M, they beat 1 team that finished in the Top 25 that season and had several struggle wins.
Notre Dame beat the #1 team in the country, had two Top 25 wins and only one struggle win. They made their conference championship game and their only loss was to a team they beat earlier. Their resume was simply better.
I’m looking for instances in which they got into the CFP/BCS over a team in which the other team was more deserving.

seems like the last 5-6 years or so Notre Dame always finishes ahead of their preseason ranking and surpasses or matches the Vegas win O/U.
They aren’t specifically saying overrated in preseason. They usually get overrated during a season, and then lose their bowl game against a much better opponent.
