Most fans don’t consider going to the Belk bowl a success.

UK lost their starting QB, and backup QB to injury last season... I flew to Lex for U.K.-Arkansas game drunk after day at race track and asked “Why is our WR playing QB??” Still went 8-5. We coming so be scared!

I'm not saying UK is going to win the East, but it is apparent that Stoops has done a great job. Why are other fans so quick to discount their recent success?

Don't forget about Missouri!

This is the thing. OP's own definition of success would get a coach fired at about half of the schools in the SEC.

Yep! That is why Barry Odom was fired! Missouri is now making changes on the way the last two head coach have been doing at Missouri. Did not work. Now a new bloodline in the coaching tree is what Missouri needed and it should help make the difference in a couple of years.

Only because they play in the East Arkansas is hopeless right now but will recruit better players on average than UK. The Miss schools definitely recruit better players The East has been a shite show since Urban Meyer left Gainesville which has created the vacuum for UK to win some games especially in recent years when most of the East has been down and circulating new head coaches every few years

Missouri won the east division two times during that time frame you mention.

once in a decade make it to the SEC championship I would like to see y'all in it at least once. Even USCe and Arkansas have been at least once.

Missouri? Don't overlook Missouri!

This year was going to be special and rona has ruined it.

Maybe Karma is in for Kentucky football that will never get it done? No matter what like last year when 3 of 4 quarterback got hurt. That must be Karma as well. Meaning bad luck or a jinx gets to Kentucky to prevent from winning the east division.

Louisville

Kentucky beats bad teams (mostly, other than Tennessee) and loses to good teams. Kentucky is 16-16 in the SEC the last 4 years and 13 of those 16 wins are against Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri and Arkansas.

Kentucky has an edge they haven't had in a while. Their defense flies around
while gang tackling the ball. They're getting to's and cutting back on give a ways. Better players and on occasions a tough out or sometimes they beat the better team. UK has come a long way and will continue to grow in small increments under Stoops leadership. All they really need is just that one magical year and it could be all gravy for them in the east from then on.

Yeah, this is what's funny about it. We lost our starting QB, a backup to transfer, and started a first year transfer who then got hurt, and had a WR at QB for the last 8 games of the year, and won 8 with a bowl win.

This team would have won 10 with our starting QB easily. We are even deeper this upcoming season. The only real question mark is if Terry can come back healthy, and if we can get more consistency from our kickers.
