Considering youve never won the east...yes that is too much to ask

They are competing at a higher level and are in most games.

Because until we can beat Florida, Georgia and UT on a reasonable basis (not every 30 years) why should they? The comments are spot on. We aren't terrible anymore and are a threat to pull an upset but that isn't the same as being a contender for the league championship. I think Stoops has done an amazing job, we are getting players that can compete in the SEC and look like they belong. But we aren't getting top 5-10 talent and that's what the Big Boys in this league do every year. Stoops coaches our guys up but that is a steep road to climb. I am happy with our recent success, compared to Joker it is awesome, but we are not at the top of the league... yet.

Hard to respect a team that has a 2-38 record against your team, in the last 40 years.

Other programs consider that mediocre and fire their coaches for it.

Sure...other 10-win teams who slide back to this level.

As a Kentucky fan I have certain expectations. Win 7-9 games per year consistently, upset somebody who you shouldn't, and once in a decade make it to the SEC championship. Is that too much to ask?

I don't think so, but the key is upsetting two out of three with Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia in one season to win the East. You'd also have to sweep the rest of your East opponents, and probably beat State, too. It's difficult to do, but I could see Stoops getting it done if he continues to perform well at Kentucky.

Missouri and USCjr capitalized on a weak SEC East back in the early '10s. If they could do it, I don't see why Kentucky can't. I would be more confident in Kentucky winning the East someday if Tennessee wasn't your kryptonite.

Meh, you'll be fine. I think you've got another winning season on your hands- that is, whenever the hell we can get back to life.

I'll take that from an LSU or Bama fan but a Kansas fan has no room to talk about anyone else sucking in football.

Arkansas hasn't been recruiting better players on average for 4 or 5 years now.

Kentucky has a unique pull in Ohio and Indiana that other SEC schools don't have. Stoops has done a much better job going into Ohio than any other UK coach in my lifetime. Keep building inroads and become the SEC team on the recruiting trail in the Midwest and they can go up northeast into Pennsylvania too, they potentially have a better recruiting base than MS which is landlocked by better SEC programs in every direction

Who has UK recruited from Pennsylvania? Lol

Have they gotten a few Ohio kids that have been solid? Sure. Not players good enough to play at Ohio st or many top SEC programs but good for UK standards.

The key is the state of Kentucky does not produce talent. So they’re reliant on going into places like Georgia and Ohio to pick up the scraps that the big boys don’t want.

I agree Arkansas hasn’t recruited great for a while but they have a pull into Texas which is better than Ohio. But more importantly, Arkansas can produce some talent occasionally, more so than Kentucky.

I will disagree with you about Mississippi. It’s a competitive state for sure with multiple in-state schools and a small population. But per capita you could argue Miss produces as much nfl talent as about any state and those kids are loyal to MS schools and they typically stay home.

True but they haven’t played a good team other than UGA in a long time, and uga has beaten them handily each time

Even when they play Florida it’s been early in the season when the Gators have looked awful. Remember, Florida limped past Miami to the start this past season.

So I need to see UK play someone other than the garbage sec East and their terrible OOC schedule before we can say this. They’ve lucked out by drawing State from the West every and have gotten lucky to play teams like Ole Miss, Arkansas and A&M in recent years.

m not saying UK is going to win the East, but it is apparent that Stoops has done a great job. Why are other fans so quick to discount their recent success?

I wish Arkansas has had the recent success that Kentucky has. At the end of the day IF Kentucky won the East, they would get smashed so bad in the SEC Championship.
