So what does that say about FSU if they beat you? SEC "down" years still equate being the unquestioned best conference in college football?

What's sad is I don't believe Auburn is the best team in the SEC, but I believe they will BEAT FSU!! FSU plays a wussy schedule, AUBURN gonna punch FSU in da mouff!!! It's gonna be glorious

Because it was.

It's still probably the best conference in the nation, but I don't think you can honestly say it was as strong as ever with LSU, UF, UT, and UGA all having 3+ losses.

Agreed and it wasn't just the SEC that was down this year. All of college football was, tbh.

This fact was incredibly obvious with the Heisman race. When the legal issues for Jameis and bad games by other candidates happened near the end of the season, ESPN was scrambling for candidates to talk about. There just weren't a lot of really strong, standout players or teams. Even in the SEC, look at the records. Via "transitive" wins, I think Vanderbilt won the East. They beat UGA who beat SC who beat Missouri. Not saying Vandy has a claim to the East, just pointing out how wacky things were.

he SEC teams in the top 10 this year don't appear as talented as years past. Take 2011's LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas against this year's Auburn, Alabama and Mizzou. 2011 wins in a landslide IMO.

Oh fricking puhhh-leaze. Do you realize how ridiculous it looks when someone tries to make their point using transitive comparisons? You can't know who would beat whom.

SEC defensive play was down some but there's many f actors to all that. The experience at QB played a huge part, injuries, and more Juniors leaving yearly makes things difficult on defense. Defensive Junior & Senior experience is priceless with so many different offensive systems in today's CFB game.

Bama was fortunate AJ and Mosley came back because without their experience this year. Bama would've lost 1 or 2 more games with the inexperience they had at many other positions. Two top Seniors coming back isn't the norm these days, but the chance at a 3-peat changed all that. Sorta reminded me how Tebow and Spikes came back for a chance at winning back to back BCS Titles in 2009. AJ & Mosley did good to pull off back to back, and was a freakish play at a tough rivals place frompulling it off. Tebow/Spike had similar CFB successes and they had a tough ending to their careers while chasing history too. Hopefully AJ & Mosley finish with a solid BCS Bowl to end their storied CFB careers. Like they say, making your 2nd Album after a successful 1st one is the tougher job. That's because unbelievable expectations bring self made stress to most things in life, and many come up just short. How many movie squeals are better than the original movie? Not many are more than not and I rest my case.....lol

I agree especially with AJ. I don't think a lot of people truly appreciate what he brought to the table.

I know the common perception is just throw anybody in at QB at Bama and they would succeed, but I disagree.

Bama will be much more vulnerable next year simply by the fact that he is leaving.

Very good point.

It also points to the possibility that the SEC is going to be a monster in 2014.
