What others think of their team? We all do it and it makes no sense. The announcers don't influence games, reporters Preston picks mean nothing yet we all love our team ranked high and enemy ranked low.

The polls matter, recruiting matters, coaching matters, player excution matters, and referees matter.

Some of the things we love or love to hate is just a bunch of hot air jerking our chain.

Too emotional to be troll... just bad post. Try again.

Fans want affirmation, not information. Fans feel justified believing their team is great if other people think they are as well... just the way it goes. Fan is short for fanatic... don't expect logic to reign supreme.

Go to the root of the word "fan" and you will have your answer.

I am not a troll. I just don't care what reporters and tv people say as much as I used to. I used to let Corso etc ruin my day. Now I just wait to see how it turns out on the field. I talk smack to friends but TV and radio doesn't bother me.

So you're saying we shouldn't get worked up when people say A&M won't be able to compete in the SEC?

A rabid fan's favorite team becomes part of his identity, and the fan feels like he is "part" of the team. So when a fan feels like someone is disrespecting his team, then he feels like he himself is being disrespected which creates sensitive/emotional situations that we the fans react to.

Clanish behavior that can be attributed to the South's Scot/Irish background.

when you are passionate about something you care about it...that said, some people/fans take it way too far

Newflash ... I don't give a rip what you or anyone else thinks about our team.
