Joined the sec?
It barely registered in the news when they both signed on.

Other then a Johnny football alcholol drug fueled binge and Petrino banging coeds and wrecking motorcycles you wouldn’t know they joined

With all his faults, Houston Nutt made some noise at Arkansas, too.

Really want to know why?
*Trigger warning to those who are averse to the truth, you have been warned...do not proceed past this point*

The simple reason is both Arky and aggy were allowed into the SEC in an attempt to lure the real prize to follow their rivals. The miscalculation by whoever was running the SEC at the time was forgetting about the RRS in Dallas which had by that time become an even bigger rivalry game than playing piggy or gomer.

Sorry if I hurt any feelings, I know the truth can be quite jarring at times.

You do know that we didn’t join at the same time, right?

With Arkansas and South Carolina joining the SEC it ushered in the east and west split and a championship game. It also caused juggling by other conferences to keep up. It was a pretty damn big deal.

The simple reason texas didn’t want to join is they were too chicken shite to leave their nest on the ground where they could run the show among weak competition. No one cares about your used to be in the dark ages program.

You mean like their cuckhold coach announcing his divorce?

Or another coach announcing his marriage to a stripper and her monkey?

Or a tranny prostitute announcing that their former defensive lineman owes her/him 10s of thousands of dollars?

A&M had some fanfare but we are no match for those headlines.

That's weird because you've said previously that Arkansas leadership was spooked by the threat of Texas bolting from the SWC, which is why you all left. But that doesn't seem to square with your bullshite assertion here.

Arkansas left the SWC because Broyles knew we could make more money. A lot more money.

What are you talking about? If you weren’t too chicken to join the SEC you would have left and taken aggie with you leaving us with the scraps. Broyles understood what could happen and moved to avoid that possibility. This was from his mouth. Look it up.

That has nothing to do with the cowardice from your school.

Yeah, this was over 30 years ago, they are in high school with no idea what happened.

Then he obviously didn’t think we were too cowardice to leave for a conference where we had winning record vs. everyone except Vanderbilt.

Anyway, there were factions of leadership who did want to move to the SEC and pushed for it. Texas politics got in the way and the Big 12 was born. It has little to do with cowardice, but I can see why a fan of a school we abused throughout its history would want to think that.

There media noise of atm and mizzou was loud it was just overshadowed by Tex/larry Scott crying posturing and failed attempts to make the pac Tex merger work. As for arky and usce ….it is what is they were 5th and 6th choice schools. It worked out fantastically but no one from the sec at the time wanted the narrative to be we missed on some schools so the seccg was the narrative pushed.

You answered your own question. It's because they are Arkansas and Texas A&M. There was also South Carolina and Mizzou. Both times, the SEC didn't get the team they really wanted - Texas.
