Lane put him in an untenable position. He forced him to run too many times into the teeth of SEC defenses. As a result he injured himself and became much less effective. He also made stupid decisions like going for it in 4th down too many times in several games. These “signature” plays defined Ole Miss, Lane and ultimately Matt Corrall’s season.

Johnny’s Heisman year Mike Evans was the third best receiver on the team. Never really mattered in the big games. Only 2 TDs in conference play, one against a dog shite Arkansas team and one against a dog shite Missouri team.
