At least I have memories. Were you even out of diapers the last time Arkansas made a run that deep?

Because he ran 'Forty Minutes of Spell'..Sleeping Spell that is.

I am of the opinion though that his 2008-2009 Iron Five/Add Two Man weak bench team that won the SEC outright, and gave UNC it's only tussle of the entire Dance, was one of the best LSU Hoops HC jobs of over the last twenty-plus seasons.

Yeah, almost had to rip out that national title from the days before 90% of the hogs fans on here had their balls drop.

Johnson trolled LSU. He only had 7 scholarship players and 1 signee when he left for TCU. He also had 2 open assistant coach positions all season that he never filled, and had an additional coach that didn't travel with the team. He checked out long before he left.

quote:

LSU returns only seven scholarship players for the 2012-13 season. The only returning senior will be backup forward Eddie Ludwig of Metairie as star center Justin Hamilton declared he would be entering the NBA draft as a junior a week ago Thursday - just before the story broke that TCU was interested in Johnson after Dixon turned it down. Returning players who will be juniors are starting guards Ralston Turner of Muscle Shoals, Ala., and Andre Stringer of Jackson, Miss., and backup forward Jalen Courtney of Jackson, Miss.

Three other returning scholarship players will be sophomores - starting point guard Anthony Hickey of Hopkinsville, Ky., backup guard John Isaac of Leesville and O'Bryant. The only incoming scholarship player at the moment is Malik Morgan of John Curtis High in the New Orleans area. Morgan is the No. 11 shooting guard in the nation, according to Rivals.com, and signed with Johnson last November during the early signing period.

Edit: I can't find a news story on the coaches. It was a topic off and on all season on 104.5 espn in Baton Rouge.

Thought this flame would be better but ill play.

Congrats on Trent's first conference win, nevermind we are in February. And considering his replacement bring in a Top 10 class before his first game and knocks of Missouri his season, I ain't even mad.

Trent Johnson is a good coach, but wasn't a good fit for LSU. He isn't a great recruiter, and that what's a coach needs to be successful at LSU. Johnny Jones has done a fantastic job with his little job in recruiting players, so he's a major upgrade in that aspect.

Most are pretty happy with Jones over TJ so far. Still cheering for Trent at TCU though.
