We would have destroyed them.
On another note, we've got some crazy weather here. If I stop posting, it's because I got struck by lightning and I'm dead or because my newly acquired powers of electricity prevent me from using any sort of electrical device.

Because they're Mississippi State. All they care about is beating Ole Miss, and thats the highlight of the season for them. Anything after that is just gracy for them. Their goals aren't that high.

I think a lot of recruits would choose State over OM at this point.
That could change with Freeze at the helm if he has success. But Nutt literally ran that poor program into the ground...

Not sure that state shOuld have it but the idea that bama should is ludicrous. One of the worst of the many screwed up NC situations

Also MSU went 10-0-1 in 1940, undefeated in SEC, won the Orange Bowl, but still finished 9th in the Polls, behind teams such as Northwestern (6-2) Nebraska (8-2) Texas A&M (9-1) Tennessee (9-1). All of those teams got a share of the 1940 title, and MSU didn't, while we were more deserving.
A&M did not win a share of the title in 1940. They won it in 1939 going 11-0 and defeated SEC champ Tulane at Tulane Stadium in the Sugar Bowl dropping them to 8-1-1.
Their one loss on 1940 was at the end of the season to Texas who finished 8-2 and broke our 20 game winning streak by the score of 7-0. They then went on to win the Cotton Bowl vs Fordham dropping them to 7-2.
Miss St was coming off an 8-2 in '39 and tied a 6-4-1 Auburn squad 7-7 and did not have the best record in SEC play as Tennessee finished 6-0.
It's not really too surprising to see that they finished behind A&M.

We own the SEC. If only Darian Monroe had known about this...

The 39 season has nothing to do with the rankings of the 40 season.

It's really fun watching Texas get a top 5 class every year, and then watch them get their shite pushed in.

I'm gonna guess 77 or 78. We finished 2 or 3 in football, Triplets made the final four, and runner up in baseball, and of course always track. Maybe 80's sometime. MSU wins the all-teams-are-average award a lot more often than Arkansas does. So congrats. MSU must have a lot of relevance trophies.
