My guess is that Saban is not interested in a "star" QB who is looking to impress scouts with prolific passing numbers. Those kind of QB's don't fit into Saban's conservative ball control offense.

Actually it is a balanced offense, but he has always tailored the offense to the talent at hand. He threw the ball more in the first few years at LSU.
