I have actually discussed this with some people prior to the start of this season. Wins were a lot more fun during the Shula years because if they happened it was a cause for celebration. That's kind of how it was in Saban's first few years too. But lately, it's just business as usual. Unless we go out there and beat the frick out of some overmatched patsy like the last couple of weeks, it almost feels like a loss. Beating good teams like Aggy, UGA, LSU, etc. is still awesome though, no matter how it happens.

Sorrows? Over a football game?

This is very true. Just look to our national championship celebration after we beat Texas and compare it with January's victory over Notre Dame. We were genuinely excited after beating Texas while, after beating the Irish, we simply celebrated because people just expected us to. It's almost like we were going through the motions after that win.

You have no real frame of reference for comparison.

Being an Ole Miss fan is like being a Bama fan under Coach Shula.

Forever.

That's considered our low water mark.

We get to compare it to the other end of the spectrum, which Ole Miss wouldn't know anything about.

We get you, Ole Miss. We really do. We were like you, sort of, from Dubose through Shula, except we still mostly beat you a lot and actually won the SEC during that time.

Wanna hug?

Speak for yourself.

The Texas win was a relief. That would have been a horrible loss and we let them threaten us with a backup quarterback.

I enjoyed the season immensely, and on paper that was our "best year" but I think it wasn't our best team. That would be the 2011 team.

But both of the subsequent wins were more gratifying. Especially 21-0, but there's also something orgasmic about humiliating ND.

I read on some website that Ole Miss fans are looking to add more gay.

If that is true, this thread is only the beginning.

Wins should never be a relief. They should be joyful occasions.

The one where you intimated that we can't enjoy life because we win too much?

You must have missed the decade where, you know, we kind of sucked (but still mostly beat Ole Miss), and yet still packed the Quad, still packed Bryant Denny, still enjoyed our football, and you know, went on with our lives.

Reconcile that however you want. I would perform the same mental gymnastics if I had the only team in the SECW (not counting A&M) to not make an appearance in the SECCG.

I think I've seen one response that doesn't bear out your OP.

Most if you can't. Congrats on being different.

Great implication that I am of the lesser because I am an Ole Miss fan. You guys continue to make my point for me
