Assumption:

OSU beats Wisky
OU beats TSU
SEC champ in
ACC Champ in

OSU laid an egg last year 31-0 (Blow Out)
OSU already got boat raced by one top 4 team in Oklahoma this year (Blow Out)
OSU got boat raced by a sub par Iowa team (Blow Out)
Based on those results can you really say OSU can compete with the top 4 teams in the country? A team who has been blown out twice in a season can not be a top 4 team - conference title or not.

Even if they beat an undefeated Wisconsin team that is only in the top 4 because the committee has no other choice, they are undefeated and ranked 4th behind two one loss teams and a TWO loss team, no one thinks they are a top 4 team.

Alabama is arguably the most talented team across the board and lost a 12 point game to their fiercest rival and hottest team in the country at their place. Legendary coach and for most of the season looked unstoppable until injuries mounted. If the committee takes into consideration Clemson's QB injury in their loss, you have to consider the defensive injuries at Alabama, and knowing they will be healthier after a month.

Bama is in folks after OSU beats Wisconsin.

If they beat wiscy, yes.

Wisconsin won't go below Alabama for losing a championship game while Alabama sat at home. Both will have 1 loss to a top team.

Ohio State wont be put below Wisconsin.

One of the criteria that they look at is CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS... Plus they want the Mid-west TV market...
OSU would have 11 wins, Bama would have 11 wins. Who has the more impressive wins? IMHO that is OSU. Bama has the better loss.

Alabama vs. LSU was a bust from a TV standpoint. Bama needs TCU to win for a chance to get in ...

Losing by 31 to an unranked team should be an automatic DQ from playoff contention.

If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

CFB Committee 2016: Penn State lost to a 10-2 Michigan team by 39 on the road in the fourth week of the season. PSU won the B1G = No playoff spot
CFB Comittee 2017: Ohio State lost to a 7-5 Iowa team by 31.
If OSU wins and gets in, it'll show how bad the CFB Committee is.

Not sure why this matters at all

Well, under your assumption, they would be coming off of a win against a top 4 team. A win that is better than any win on Bama’s schedule. Bama has played 1 top 10 team all season and lost by 2 scores.

This is where most fans go wrong. They only look at the top teams they beat. The committee looks at the whole body of work. Many different things. The committee also has a history of being hard on teams that get blown out by unranked teams. this is what kept PSU from being the first 2 loss team in last year. Wisky, OU, Clemson, and Auburn could all win and none of this even matters. So let's all relax and see what happens. Enjoy some football, and if and when it comes down to Bama and tOSU we can have this debate then. And we can debate it until we are blue in the face and it still won't even matter. The only debates that will matter will be among the dozen or so people on the committee Saturday night. If a debate is even required.

The committee also has puts an emphasis on how a team is playing recently. OSU lost to Iowa but that was a month ago. They will have beaten ranked MSU, a decent Michigan team, and top 4 Wisconsin since then. Meanwhile, Bama has looked very average in their last two games.

We'll see what happens. I think they will take Bama over tOSU because of the blowout loss to Iowa. Bama has an edge with strength of schedule right now, but tOSU will have it.after Saturday. If it comes down tOSU and Bama, then two games that have yet to be played come into play. FSU against ULM. If FSU gets the 6th win that gives Bama a 6th win over a bowl eligible team. Something we know the committee looks at. Then there is #25Fresno State ve BSU in Boise. If Fresno State loses to BSU, the Bama loses a win over a ranked opponent, and if Fresno wins they pick up a 10th win and likely crack the top 20. This could still play out in many different ways. I know you guys are tired of Bama, but do remember the committee did leave a door open for them. By keeping State ranked I think they are trying to tell us that is if it comes down to Bama and tOSU, they will more than likely go with Bama.

That’s what I’m worried about. I think it also depends on how OSU wins. If it’s a sloppy game and neither team impressed then Bama has a better shot. If OSU dominates then I think they have a better shot.

I’ll be rooting my arse of for Wisconsin and OU on Saturday.
