The answer is because we have a guy who was both awesome at LSU and in the pros.

I know it's cliche but Burrow just IS different. Other players are absolutely loved and followed but Burrow has a different kind of hold on people. When he came here his entire hometown became LSU fans. There were many news stories and articles showing the amount of LSU gear around Athens, OH and lots of quotes from people calling it Baton Rouge North. He already had them. Then he endeared himself to the people down here and cemented the love when he ran out with the Burreaux jersey on on senior night.
Then his speech at the heisman ceremony where he put the focus on the poverty in his hometown and did so with sincerity - thats just a different speech than other winners make.
His trajectory right now is to be one of the greats. I don't think you have to be an LSU fan to recognize that. Or to recognize that he is one of the most popular players in the NFL outside of just LSU and Cincy fans.
So it's not us being "so attached to a former QB" it's us being attached to and proud of an icon.

Been posting since November of 2017 and the sad part is, he does not realize he is the joke.

Cute how you have to include the laughing emoji in nearly every single one of your post in order for you to believe that the shite you post is actually humorous.
