The rant is full of idiots.
They expect Nick Saban success, but only one coach in cfb has had Nick Saban success and that is....well...Nick Saban.
We had one bad year (after losing so much talent on the offensive side of the ball last year, and having everyone leave early on the defensive side of the ball the year before), but because we had a bad year and Saban didn't, it is time to give him the boot apparently.

You laugh but it's the truth. Who exactly would LSU go get that could consistently produce better results than Miles right now?

quote:Who knows? Surely y'all were wrong in 2007 as well. If you dont agree the situations are identical I cant help you. Both extremely successful coaches, but both were being judged against coaches that werent coming back. Neither fanbase was full on for firing the guy, but both fanbases were excited for a potential change that could be better

We all know it's always a good decision to remove a consistent winner who's been a good ambassador for the school and keeps the money flowing into the AD.

And if you can't see that it's not I'm not real sure what to tell you either.

SEC Basketball:SEC Football::ACC Football:ACC Basketball

It shouldn't be given that Kentucky's expectations in basketball is to consistently be a well performing program in the NCAA tournament. Little bit of a difference in a SEC basketball championship and a football one.

Comparing the University of Kentucky basketball program to LSU football program is quite delusional. Now if you were comparing Bama football to UK basketball then you may have a point.
Tubby was feeling so the heat because UK was getting beat by Florida consistently. His recruiting was in the skids. Bad losses to mediocre teams during the regular season. Also not advancing very far in the tournament.

Look, I personally dont think either fanbase is delusional here. Neither is or was full pitchfork for a firing. Sometimes people just get excited about a change. That is how I see both of these scenarios

Let me ask you this? We all know Nick Saban left LSU for another gig. We know that Nick Saban did not leave Bama for another gig. I'm sorry, I don't see coaches flocking for the LSU job. Kentucky is the destination job for basketball. My question to you is LSU fans do you honestly think LSU is a destination job for football? Bama is obviously a destination job for football.

You mean 10-2 Mississippi State with their best team in recent memory? Quite the standard for mediocre you are rolling with. Of course I will let you have Arkansas.

That's fair. The problem at the moment is there is a lot of downside from where LSU sits now and not significantly more upside. I really don't like the prospect of a coaching search in the current environment when you have a stable winning program that keeps the money flowing in and hasn't been under the NCAA microscope. All in search of marginally better upside because the best coach/program in college football has gotten the better of us recently.
I understand your perspective but it's a proposition with a lot of risk with not a terrible amount of reward.

The fricker won LSU a national title. Any LSU fan who wants him gone is a jackass. I'd take him over Richt any day.
