Why are LSU and Ole Miss fans in denial about our rivalry?

Always some bullshite about how it's not a rivalry. Some of the best stories I ever heard from my dad and grandpa were the LSU Ole Miss games, and there have been some hate filled nail biters in recent years too. It's a goddamned rivalry. Yes maximum jimmy overrustle engaged.

It's definitely a rivalry, just a much bigger one for Ole Miss than it is for LSU

When it is a borderline cult for one school, whose athletic department and student body give zero tricks about anything other than beating the other school, and that other school laughs at their deep and undeniably pathetic attempts to gather attention when they finally pull one out, it is only a rivalry to one school. Making it not a rivalry.

LSU hates LOSING to Ole Miss. They don't think they have won the Super Bowl because they beat them. Ole Miss alums even act like that horse shite. Ones that never stepped on the field. It is an embarrassment to sports as a whole.

Bama doesn't claim LSU as a rival. LSU is desperate for it though.

This is how the rest of us (non-OM) fans see their obsession, too

It's a great rivalry when both teams are good, that's why it was such a big one during the 50's and 60's. I think Freeze will have Ole Miss consistantly winning 8+ for years to come so I expect the rivalry to get bigger. I always consider them a rival, but Ole Miss fans are my favorite opposing team fans in the SEC. It's hard for me to have a Alabama-Auburn type hate for people I like.

ole miss is like your alcoholic uncle with a rap sheet. you see them once a year during the holidays and it's awkward - then you avoid them rest of year

I kind of feel like that towards LSU fans oddly enough. My roommate at Ole Miss was from Baton Rouge and was still a pretty hardcore LSU fan.

"It's their Super Bowl and we really don't care" thread.

Whatever makes you feel better at night, Tigers. We've split with you in football over the last six years, have handled you in basketball lately, and always play you well in baseball, especially in Oxford.

Truth is, your meltdowns of losing to Ole Miss shows you care more than you're willing to admit. Call it what you want, but your pathetic attempt to be "better than the rivalry" just makes you look like a bunch of pussies.

I always make the oxford trips. Oxford is one of my favorite southern towns and 99% of the time I'm treated with Southern hospitality and have a great time.
