Because we expect more than what they showed. I mean the scheme was just awful and none of us understand why we really didnt adjust all night.

Because you couldn’t. They showed Grantham several times and he looked like a deer caught in headlights. He was panicking out there.

while that may be the case, i just don't see mullen ever going into a game without a rock solid gameplan and now he has fla level athletes. he's going to be tough to beat every time, which sucks.

We are going to have to change the defensive scheme eventually, however. And to answer OP's question:

I like our style of defense but we don't have a plan when we go up against an above average to elite passing Quarterback.

Our losses under Mullen:

Kentucky (Although their QB absolutely balled out on the ground and in the air)
Georgia (Jake Fromm)
Missouri (Drew Lock)
LSU (Joe Burrow).

3 out of the 4 Quarterbacks that ate up our defense were pocket passers who could identify the blitz/coverage pre-snap and simply find the open guy.

Now, granted, we were missing our best pass rusher for almost the entire game (he was banged up before playing) and I'm not sure Zuniga was healthy enough to be playing and certainly didn't look to be 100%.

----------

I am happy, though, to start getting new players and what Dan Mullen is doing with the program. However, if we ever want to win a Championship we have to figure out how to cover above average passers.
