Our players are great, Todd Grantham on the other hand deserves criticism. He died on his stubborn arse hill Saturday. He refused to challenge you guys with bump and run coverage, despite constant blown assignments in his stupid arse matchup zone.

I mean the scheme was just awful and none of us understand why we really didnt adjust all night.
You guys did adjust. Your LBs stayed back to guard the pass in the first half so Burrow read them at the mesh point and gave CEH the ball for a run play.
Grantham adjusted in the second half and the LBs leaned forward to stop the run. The only problem is Burrow pull the ball at the mesh point and threw to the crossing receiver for nice gains.
That’s why the RPO is so hard to stop. The LB has to disguise his position, recover and hope the QB makes the wrong choice. Most CFB LBs are just not talented enough to disguised and recover (they are in the NFL). Burrow made the wrong choices a few times. Just not enough to stop him and the offense.

Seriously though, Texas played a ton of man and got smoked too.
No offense but Texas doesn’t have C.J Henderson and Marco Wilson. Both are man corners and the film shows over and over again they struggle in zone. Grantham didn’t even try if you would have beat us fine at least we would have lost playing to our strength.

You sound like an LSU fan complaining about Aranda.

When you’re getting to the QB it’s fine, when you’re getting shredded with 3 step drops all night, it’s time to play press and knock some receivers off there damn routes to try to disrupt timing. We never even tried. Not one damn time.

I swear this sounds just like the criticism that Aranda gets from LSU fans.
The trend has been LSU back 7 struggles with offenses the first two or three series running zone and as soon as they switch to man they shut down the oppositions offense.

Fify.
Theres always a counter. The offense will always hold the advantage.

What scheme do you think would have worked? No matter what you do, this offense is going to score.

1. When Henderson was thrown at he broke up multiple passes.
2. Texae DBs arent as good as Wilson and Henderson.
Which is why its puzzling. Watch the replay. Most throws are verse Dean and the safeties. LSU went at Henderson rarely, and they were all challenged. Where as vs Dean and safeties they were burnt.
LSU schemed insanely well, and we didnt counter. Just kept doing the same thing that was clearly not working lol. LSU at least changed up later after realizing dropping 8 and daring Trask to beat them was not going to work. We kind of kept the same plan it seems from watching it twice.

quote:ehhhh. without holding on every play, those 2 wouldn't have done nearly as well. although pitts is a straight up baller. i'm going to enjoy watching him the rest of the year. he's incredible.
I'm sure Pitts and Van Jefferson would say the same about the LSU secondary
jefferson is really good too. not nearly as good as the lsu version but still really good. he's going to really test anyone's secondary
as if it hasn't been acknowledged enough already, trask was awesome. that kid played a whale of a game. tough runner. made some excellent throws
henderson is clearly really talented. tough to beat
lsu's d line is probably being a little undersold right now. fla's o line struggled and held all night but, lsu has a lot of top talent on the d line and they are getting better every week.
fla's darn good and mullen has a great game plan. if it weren't for a once in a decade record setting lsu offense, fla might have won. orgeron's leadership and staff were really underrated but he's starting to get some well deserved recognition

quote:this has been explained by commentators. it's at the point now where you just have to pick your poison and hope you outscore lsu.
the scheme was just awful and none of us understand why we really didnt adjust all night
ga southern started out sitting back and lsu picked them apart underneath. texas and the next games, they tried to stop the underneath stuff and burrow smoked them over the top. fla sat back and the lsu run game exploded

man them up and force Burrow to throw on them
mcmath
kirklin
palmer (maybe the fastest of the group)
marshall (every bit as good as jefferson and chase)
holy crap. lsu is freaking loaded at wr

While that's fine..make them lol. Dont let Chase be covered by a safety.

I could see Georgia pulling a Tebow/UF type deal after y’all lost to ole miss
They don't have a Tebow type of QB on the team.
shite, they don't even have a Tebow leader on the team. That is not a Championship level team, and they would probably get absolutely crushed by teams like LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and so on.
Posted on 10/14/19 at 8:51 pm to StrawsDrawnAtRandom
while that may be the case, i just don't see mullen ever going into a game without a rock solid gameplan and now he has fla level athletes. he's going to be tough to beat every time, which sucks.
