So are you saying A&M and t.u. are one in the same?

Cool man. Think about that one for a second.

Edit - are you taking a break from walking around campus carrying a dildo?

That’s true, without a doubt.
Doesn’t mean y’all didn’t also refer to yourselves as Texas University.
Many institutions of higher ed have multiple monikers.
Nothing wrong with t.u.

Honey, we've been through this many times.

The fact that we referred to ourselves as "Texas University" is immaterial to the point.

It's that you use lowercase letters to reference that is what screams your inferiority complex.

I love everything about us.
I don’t care if we were berthed from your College of Liberal Arts.
History is just that ... the past.

Would I want to be affiliated with UTex now?
Not in a million.

And to be honest ... I’ve always appreciated our mutual rivalry and respected UTex.
But I’m saddened by what the university in Austin has become.
Y’all are better than that.

Yeah but that means we are all t.u.

Do you not understand that?

How do you like being considered the same as a bunch of sheep fricking aggies?

Do I get my t.u. ring now?

Because this is their golden era and yet no one will pay attention to them.

Us sucking up a lot of the attention is why.

It's simply a matter of "culture" versus "agriculture."

Once upon a time that was very definitely the case.
You know as well as I do that isn’t true any longer.
I wish it was.
Our agricultural roots are amazing.

We have a ranch In Fredericksburg—my home away from Houston.
Our best neighbors hold masters and doctoral degrees in Ag from that school in CSTX.
Let me know if you’re ever interested in visiting—I mean that.
We’d welcome you with a cold drink and Texas hospitality.
I think you’d learn something.

Naw it’s because that’s what they used to call themselves, so when we made our fight song, that’s what it was called. There are tons of home programs from 50 years ago them calling themselves texas university. Then they made a rebrand to “The University of...” in order to be pretentious.

Amazing that someone from Mississippi would be stupid enough to make a post like this. JK, not amazing at all.

You know what he’s getting at.

Funny, I thought t.u. was the enlightened, “cultured” school ...

My daughter went to UT. Any weekend there are A LOT of aggie students that have come over from College Station. A LOT! Austin is is the light and Aggies are the moth. Not much going on ever in College Station. Dixie Chicken is about it.

You are terribly confused. The official name was The University of Texas from the day it opened its doors until 1967, when the UT System was formed and it officially became The University of Texas at Austin.

Here's a diploma from 1933.

Yes, and I’ve seen my fair share of longhorns at Northgate.

Also, a good number of those Ags are from Austin and going back to visit friends at t.u.

I went to 6th and Rainey all the time with my friends when I was back in town. Doesn’t mean shite.

6th doesn’t belong to t.u., it belongs to the freaks in Austin. Northgate belongs to A&M.

There are many Ags who are from Austin; they visit home regularly.
And yes, ATX is a fun town for non-Texans and Texans alike to visit.
I did so when I was an undergrad; many of my high school BFFs went there.

Your comment that The Chicken is our only place to hang tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of College Station.
That’s cool; you’re not alone.
Best of luck to your daughter!
