Something just seems fishy as hell about this to me.
I thought that the meth use was just a very bad rumor. Could it be true? It can't be his measurable s or on field production.

yeah. i agree.
i don't care where he goes, BUT i would hate to see Buffalo pick him up in the 2nd.

Meth use is just a joke on here that people have run with. Although some drive by posters seem to think it's the truth.
I would imagine if it is anything that it would be coke that is the harder drug he has done. It's pretty prevalent at Arkansas as it is at most college's these days.

something is up. i doubt it's meth.
i dont think people on this board really know what a regular meth user looks and behaves like. and it WOULD effect his performance in a negative way if he was a regular user. anyone who has used drugs in the past, or knows a regular meth user, knows this.

No, it is just a rumor spread by the talking heads fueled by other agents with QBs on the board.
Mallett will get taken early today. He will now have more motivation than any other QB in the draft.
I think his foot speed is really what set him back. He is not mobile outside of the pocket at all. You will really have to have a great Oline in order to win with him as your QB.
I also fault Ryan's agent. His agent did not do his job this entire process or he would have been drafted last night to the TN Titans.

No shite! This is some truth right here.

That is what made a couple other QB's more worthy of being picked ahead of him but slipping past the first? Mallett is a gamer and will be a steal at this point.

I agree. I'm not blaming it soley on the agent, but I think Ryan should've hired a more experienced agent to represent him.

Look at the teams who took QBs. They most all have a history of taking or having a mobile QB in their franchise.
Yes, he is a steal at this point.
I think you couple the big arm flop of J.Russell, mixed in with the pot rumors, and throw in a little slow 5.6 forty and you have an answer on why he is sitting there in the 2nd round.

Is it the drug use that plummeted his stock?
Honestly, I originally figured it was just exageration but I don't know what to think about Ponder getting drafted before Mallett?
Got to be a reason that doesn't relate to game performance or athletic capabilities.

You talkin about not taking care of the rumors or what?

people are getting too obsessed with the particulars of Ponder and/or Locker IMO
It is not like the only other option was Mallet, most seem to have Dalton ranked ahead of him... and there are other possible QBs like Stanzi and Kaepernick floating around... and the possibility of someone trading to get Kolb or Matt Flynn
To me the Locker and Ponder picks were major reaches but it is not that they bypassed Mallet for them that is shocking... it is that those teams passed on every other available player to pick them

Resorting to blaming an agent... there's a word for this.

A buddy on mine went to UT. He smoked with Ricky Williams regularly. I dont think it hurt him too much, till after the draft anyway. Wonder if the Saints wouls have ended thier draft for that pick if they new he was a stoner?
