And this is what I said on page 1. UGA fans love to hate on Mett

SWEEEEEEET!
No joking! I remember what your running backs did to us in the SECCG a couple of years ago. LSU always manages to come up with hard nosed, tough RB's. BUT....they are not in the class of Georgia's. Gurley and Marshall truly are special. Check out lindy's Southeastern Preview or Phil Steel's College Football 2013...or just about any other credible preseason college football mag. They rate Georgia's running backs the best tandem in the nation. And we have our top 6 Offensive Linemen coming back.
I give a defensive edge to LSU and an offensive edge to Georgia. I realistically believe that the team that can avoid turnovers will win this one. If Georgia comes out flat and turns the ball over to LSU like we did against South carolina last year you guys will hang 40+ points on us and will be looking me up on this board. However, if you guys come out like the 2005 SECCG it could get ugly in our favor quick, too. Only time will tell.

LSU on the last play of the game. UGA called for excessive celebration before LSU's final, winning TD drive.

I didn't say you hate him, I said you guys hate ON him - as in - you love to be critical of Mett.
Do you know what "to hate on" somebody means?

This is the first I've heard about Mett being a rapist. When did this happen?

We have 3 returning that started in the SECCG:
Sr. DE Garrison Smith (started both SECCGs)
Jr. ILB Amarlo Hererra (started both SECCGs)
Jr. CB Damian Swann
We have 2 more that played significant snaps:
Jr. DE Ray Drew
So. OLB Jordan Jenkins (2nd on the team in sacks behind Jarvis Jones, he also started 6 games)
Other guys that received limited snaps:
Sr. ILB Ramik Wilson
Jr. NT Mike Thornton
Meanwhile, Sr. OLB Chase Vasset started 2 of the 4 games he was healthy for before suffering a season ending injury.
It really comes down how the secondary shapes up.
Two safety positions are open and I believe we're ok there talent wise, but short on depth.
So. Josh Harvey-Clemons (will also play Nickel CB)
Jr. Corey Moore
JUCO transfer Shaq Fluker
True Fr. Early Enrollee Tray Matthews
Somebody has to step up at the other CB spot out of:
JUCO transfer Kennar Johnson
Jr. Devin Bowman (started against Mizzou, probably the least talented of the bunch)
True Fr. Brendan Langley
True Fr. Shaw Wiggins
We have plenty of talented depth across the front 7, but it's inexperienced and we finally have close to a fill roster for the first time since 2007.
The good news is that I don't see Mettenberger lighting up the weakest part of our team unless Cam Cameron is a miracle worker.

I think you guys exaggerate the point and enjoy doing so. Mett wasn't that bad last year.

but I don't think LSU is going to have the same caliber of defense they have had in years past
I can see that this may be a concern for LSU, but we heard the same thing after 2010.
After 2011, LSU lost Brockers, Claiborne, Mathieu, Taylor and Brooks on defense (all drafted - eventually), and had to start two freshman CBs all season - yet LSU STILL fielded a strong defense.
LSU has been maintaining their top notch recruiting - 2012 was heavy on LBs, 2013 was heavy on DLs - and LSU will start 8 or 9 upper classmen on defense, with the two CBs being sophs this year. LSU loses players early to the draft every year, yet they continue to maintain a high standard on defense year in and year out.
We will see.

After all that I left out the most talented guy at CB that is slate to start next to Swann: So. CB Sheldon Dawson
