Uga has 27 Seniors or rs sr's on their 85 man roster. 27/85 = 31% or roughly 1/3 of their roster.
Just went through your link because I was curious. We had 14 of those seniors that got any playing time at all. At all. A couple of those shared playing time with younger guys. By shared I mean the senior was in the game 50% or less.
The rest of those guys were scout team guys, as a whole.
Now, I didn't count Graduate Students, which is what our punter was and 3rd string QB.

We only took 21 in our 2014 class. 4 of those are already gone, didn't pan out. We still have a few holdovers from the 2013 class as well with redshirts, but overall your number is bogus.
It's about 20%. We are bottom heavy on our roster right now, not top heavy.

CBS games don't usually start until week 3.

You kow, I think this is something that is way overlooked, and a good point.
I've seen some very talented teams fall apart due to chemistry. I would be willing to bet that is what happened with FSU this past year. Once the QB went down they just fell apart. I can't believe they were that much of a one man team.

South Carolina will win the East, despite their yearly loss to the Aggies.

We're working on developing a State House grounds condom to protect it from the jizz fest y'all will have there the night before the game.

Without significant improvement in our offense line and scheme, we will be an also ran. I remain optimistic however.

Lonnie,
Of the 44 guys on the two-deep,
7 on offense are seniors or redshirt seniors.
7 on defense are seniors or redshirt seniors.
So yeah, that is about 32% of what I'd consider "contributing" players.
The flipside to this is that Kirby's #6 class are about to be juniors, and his #3 class are going to be sophomores, his #1 class just coming in as freshmen... all underneath Richt's final #6 class about to be seniors, we are bottom-heavy in the talent level.

Incorrect. That list includes all of the walkons. There are 131 players on that list.
Gotta love it when people don't look at their own links

I don't have enough fingers and toes to count to 131...
Regardless of the numbers, UGA loses a lot off this team.
But they'll still be favored to win the east in 2018.

Followup question-
Whats the average for a number like this?
Don't you normally expect for at least a third of your contributors to be the older players? I would imagine this to be closer to 50% for most teams.
The 32% number doesn't mean much without that context.

I was curious about this class when I saw that it was his last. It was a pretty darn good class with a lot of contributors.

I have enough to count to 10 and I still struggle!

You can't just look at the numbers either, I would give up every defense starter we have on the team right now and replace them with their backups, if we can keep Roquan Smith for his senior season. Some particular guys mean a whole hell of alot more than others.
Also, this will likely be the first time since 2013 that we've had the same guy at QB for two years in a row.
2013 Murray
2014 Mason
2015 Lambert
2016 Eason
2017 Fromm
2018 Fromm (unless Fields beats him out!)
I think this is huge for Georgia, and the fact our OL will definitely be better, despite losing Wynn.

Probbly UGA , anything can happen but Kirby has built a real team, thy will not be like auburn and win 12-13 then only win 7-8 they will stay at the top as they have stocked up on talent like Bama has. They will reload and be a force inthe east for a long time to come. They are not built on one Heisman caliber QB like some teams are. They come and go, UGA is built for longevity like Bama. This could be the first BAMA UGA run as top of their sides for years to come.

We also return HotRod, so our intangibles and kicking game will be elite.
