No joke, I may be moving to Nashville from Arlington next year. It’s a nice city.

Hotel rooms aren’t the problem—its the tickets

Tickets for whom? State was only getting 3-500 regardless of how big Vandy’s stadium is. Are you saying fewer Vandy fans will be able to attend? Well, you’d be wrong there as well.

It is interesting no matter where State plays, our fans find away to get into the ball park even when we have no tickets assigned to us.
Our fans are very resourceful in that area.

So I will guarantee that we will have more than our measly ticket allotment in the Tin Box this weekend at Vandy. :)

We just got stewed by the NCAA. No way Vandy should host this super regional.

1. No hotels
2. Their fans suck
3. The whistler
4. Our stadium holds 4x the fans which means 4x the money

i didn't mind their fans at all this year when I attended our series

3. The whistler
I'll give you that

it doesn't work that way. The biggest chunk of money comes from the TV contracts, not the gate proceeds

Now I'll go

1. Nashville>>>>>>>>>Starkville
2. Vandy>>>>State
3. Nashville, as a city, is more attractive to basically anyone not from Starkville
4. Vandy already played, and swept, State in Starkville this year
5. State's stadium is a construction zone right now
6. Miss State is in Starkville

Nope. I'm telling the truth. They're having that huge country music thing this weekend up there.

Okay. But they have a small stadium.

Thanks. Think we all agree here.

Bet that if we played at LSU earlier and matched up in a super they would make us go to Baton Rouge again.

As it has been all year. No problem.

It all comes down to who put in the best bid. Vandy
had to have put in a better bid the Miss St.
I remember the same scenario a few years ago when Texas and Houston both won as 2 seed. Texas hosted because they put in
the best bid.

1. Nashville is a nice city except good luck this weekend with traffic and hotel rooms.
A quick glance showed any 4 star hotel w/Availability within 10 miles of downtown is about $400-600 a night . BNA is the only city along w/SAN and SFO that have higher hotel rates than NYC.
True you may get a $300+ room in the outer suburbs and again good luck trying to get to the ballpark.

2. Vandy fans are good folks with one solitary exception.

3. See #2.

4. Conference series was three months ago. Really not any effect on this decision IMO.

5. I will grant that is an issue. Our stadium is still a hot mess right now.

6. Starkvegas is a great small city. Guarantee that 100% of the people there know about the SR between a State and Vandy. In BNA maybe 0.01% of people even care and have knowledge of College Baseball (specifically Vandy Baseball).

However that said, let’s play some ball and see who goes to Omaha. Go Dawgs. :)

I know, I live in Nashville. I promise the entire metro area doesn't shut down for CMA fest. The Nashville Sounds have a home series this weekend too.

so what?

probably because Baton Rouge is also better than Starkville for accommodating an event. Starkville doesn't even have an airport. That's kind of a big deal

guarantee you it's a problem for the NCAA

Hate to burst your bubble but LSU is 10 Miles from BTR airport and MSU is 18 Miles from GTR airport. WOW considering traffic it is probably about 20-25 minutes for each driving time.

Starkvegas does a great job managing a SR , has plenty of hotels but I grant this year the stadium construction is an issue.,
In fact I think that is the main reason it is in BNA. Any other factor favors State.

But all that is ok.

Just did a Google search. No problem finding hotels--even the Marriott next to the park has rooms. Now, they are expensive as hell, but rooms are out there.

I think the construction was the deciding factor. When A&M played there earlier in the season, they didn't even have reserved seating, which is one thing that you have to provide to the visitors (600 seats between first and third). Not to mention the lack of restrooms and press facilities. State is going to have the best facility in college baseball next year, but this year, it's a construction site.

Y’all need to stop with this crap. Winning is winning. I don’t care what scenario you put on it. Y’all got your asses swept at home. Vandy deserves the host regardless of hotels or any other bullshite excuse y’all come up with. Y’all sound like Saban crying for a rematch after LSU beat them at home.

Honestly, I think that series had minimal if any effect on this decision. Maybe 1-5 % of it.

Stadium construction was about 90% of the decision IMO.

Had these two teams played the last weekend of the season then yes, I think it takes on more importance but the fact it was 3 months ago diminishes its affect greatly.

Show me where in the rule book it says anything about regular season series has anything to do with host sites.

It does not and the committee could care less because in theory neither of these teams were supposed to win their Regionals.
At this point the regular season is mostly meaningless especially in head to head play with two teams that are now facing each other in a SR.

This arrangement offers the potential for the best of both worlds.

A Bulldog braining the whistler with a Cowbell, and then a dozen 'manly' Vandy fans trying to jump him, while security tries to intervene.

That'd be about perfect, right?

Sounds like you have an incompetent AD for not having it done in time
