A&M. I hear their defense is dominating their offense in scrimmages.

I really can't see anyone consistently running against bama with any success.

Feel very good about Jalen Reeves Maybin and Cortez Mcdowell on the outside. There is plenty of talented hybrid players as well (OLB/DE) Chris Weathered will be a pass rush specialist.

MLB is still an issue. RS JR. Kenny Bynum is the elder statesmen and I think he'll get the nod early but he lacks some top end lateral speed. Darrin Kirkland Jr. has a ton of talent and is really smart but is true freshman so that isn't a great answer either.

The good news is that we will likely only use a MLB against Arkansas, UGA and Bama as the rest of our competition generally spreads it out and we'll have our Nickel package in.

But those three teams above will present that one weakness on our entire defense with a stiff challenge.

I know your D-line is going to be good, but how are your LBs looking?

JRM looks great, question mark at the other LB spot though. Right now, it looks like true freshman Darrin Kirkland Jr. may get the start, but there's a lot of talent at that position, just young and unproven.

Fortunately, unlike last year, our DTs won't have to play 80+ snaps a game because we'll have some depth there. Our secondary was gonna be one of our strengths, but now that Gaulden is out for the year, I'm not as confident.

Overall, I think the defense will be better than last year.

To answer the OP, Bama will have the strongest front 7.

So many Bama haters in this thread. If you don't like them, then beat them on the football field. Not that hard of a concept to understand.

Bynum isn't lacking speed at all. He dropped 15 lbs and is moving very very well

Alabama will likely have the best front seven in the nation.

Ole Miss has a great defensive line, and Auburn has a lot of talent in their front seven as well.

Georgia has some studs at LB and Tennessee has a young, but extremely talented, defensive line.

That's the way I see it rolling.

Front 7 - BAMA without a doubt
Back 7 - LSU

UGA has 3 future first round picks at LB, and some crazy good young DL's... It will be a tight race between Bama and UGA

Have you noticed that in these type of threads lsu fans are always trying to change the direction to an area they're one of the best at, they've been very needy this off season. It's like they haven't been relevant in 3+ years and are trying hard to get noticed. Look at us, please look at us. Always talking about "potential" , be scared of lsu "if" this happens, yaw yaw be ripping off shirts, gif of the one good Fournette play vs Tamu, we almost beat you with Jennings just wait til Harrisiah starts boy can throw ball 50+yds on his knees, our dB coach is the best, look at me, we will good again this year wait and see... Seriously have been the most attention deprived acting fan base off season.
