What was States record the nine years prior in the SEC?
As shown above. Mullen has overachieved every stop. He suddenly doesnt at Florida? His first year here he overachieved as well.
Seems like a pattern. One you do not want to be true, so you are letting emotions dictate reason. Mind you. Mullen could underachieve here. But to say he has no chance, or some glass ceiling despite his success throughout his career is ridiculous.
You want him to fail. Doesnt mean he will. Sorry.

I don't want him to fail. I just want him to lose to Georgia every year.

This thread is about Mullen and Pruitt. Your obsession with Georgia is evident.
I was responding to a Dog fan and giving him parity.
Then another Georgia fan comes along. Talk about obsession.

Lol I’ve lost count on the amount of threads Georgia fans have created about Dan Mullen and the Gators...but Gator fans are obsessed with Georgia

It's so interesting to see a coach get so much mileage out of a fluke 10 win season.
Dan is what he is. A good coach that doesn't have what it takes to bring in the best of the best athletes that he needs to win it all.

His "glass ceiling" is self imposed by not being able to compete with the best recruiters. Nothing ridiculous about pointing that out.

At MSST:
To find a ten win season you have to go to 1999.
To find six bowl wins you have to go back to 1963.
To find seven winning seasons you have to go back to 1992.
To find three 9+ win seasons you have to go back to 1974.
He was only there for 9 years, and replicated decades worth of achievements. People have this inflated view of Mississippi State for what he made them and to judge him based on his tenure there negatively is simply fallacious.
There is a glaring omission from your assessment. If you're intellectually honest you'll admit it.
In 2006 CFB went to a 12 game schedule. Teams responded by adding an extra rent-a-win game. Therefore a 10 win season post schedule expansion is not directly equivalent to a 10 win season pre schedule expansion. It was just harder to win 10 (or 9) before adding that extra game.
Your assessment is invalid.

So far, my vote's going in Pruitt's corner. I know the Vols have yet to get above .500 in quite awhile, but I've got a funny feeling this year is going to see some marked improvement in them.
This was a solid take.
