Both of those two know that Ole Miss football is a sinkhole. They are way too smart to fall into it.
Holtz is probably the best they can do.

^This. I grew up a huge ECU fan (dad went there) before I went to Ole Miss. ECU had NEVER won a conference title after being in the conference for about two decades.

Not only did he win the first conference title in the history of the program, but he did it two years in a row. Also, he led them to a win over an SEC team in the Liberty Bowl (Kentucky), and would've beaten Arkansas in it the next year if it wasn't for four missed field goals, including a potential game winner at the end of regulation (lost in overtime).

Led ECU to upsets over teams including Virginia Tech, NC State, and UNC while he was there too. He's a badass.

Based on what?

It hasn't even been established that Diaz is better DC than Chris Wilson. Last year we finished #49 in total defense and right now we are #34, and that's after losing 3 players to the NFL. We're currently #21 in scoring defense and Texas under Diaz is #30.

Do you really think a guy from the northeast actually has a deep seeded burning hatred for Ole Miss? It's all just a ploy to sell the program and get the fan base fired up.

I don't think he'd come to Ole Miss for the record though.

This is in reference to Skip, not Southern Miss' coach, but conference affiliation is all relative. His program had resources comparable to his competition, the other teams within the conference. Not to mention he managed to beat teams with far more resources at their disposal such as Virginia Tech, UNC, NC State, and Kentucky (should've beat Arkansas in Liberty Bowl too, mentioned in earlier post).

Yes Conference USA is weak, and his competition are schools with limited resources, but you also have to realize that he was winning with a school that had limited resources as well.

The same Skip Holtz who's 0-3 in the Big East this year? Yeah, I would like that hire.

I agree. I like Skip Holtz now that people are mentioning him.

And HEEEEEEELL NO to Larry Fedora. I will switch allegiances to Bama or LSU before i support him coaching our team.

Seriously? The Civil war ended 146 years ago and some REBS refuse to admit the South lost.

They will NEVER accept their actual minor program status.
