Auburn fans are happy with Freeze even though he continues to blow games when Auburn is favored.

Auburn really should've beaten FSU. Had Jimbo not faked that punt before half to regain momentum Auburn probably wins.
I agree to a point, but it's much simpler than that. If we had kickoffed, out of the endzone like we had done EVERY KICKOFF ALL YEAR, there wouldn't have been a a run back that put them into easy scoring position!

Auburn had back to back fluke plays to win the SEC West that year.

Prayer at Jordan Hare and Kick Six, not to mention the upset in the B1G championship game which opened the door for Auburn to make it up to #2 in the BCS rankings after the conference championship games.

If 2004 Auburn had half the luck 2013 Auburn had, 2004 Auburn would have been playing Utah or Louisville for the BCS Championship that year instead of VT in the Sugar Bowl. That 2004 Auburn team was damn good.

I was at all of those games. UGA was a fricking miracle, but the Iron Bowl was no fluke. Saban got outcoached on the winning play. He put all of his big bodies out there for the kick, playing max protect. Gus saw that and called a TO. Gus changed his alignment and put his returner deep in the endzone, anticipating a short attempt. The rest his history.

Auburn went on to DESTROY Missouri in the SECCG,

the Iron Bowl
When I saw Alabama's kicking team come out, I knew it was over. I thought it was going to be a missed kick and Auburn would win in OT.

Obviously, the Kick 6 was unexpected.

However, there is no way you can say that a missed FG returned 109 yards for a TD wasn't a fluke play. There cannot be more than a few dozen documented instances of that happening in the history of CFB, and none with the magnitude that play had.

I can easily say that! Ricardo Lewis catching a tipped ball, while defended by TWO defenders and walking into the endzone for the game winner, is the epitome of "fluke play" Planning for the outcome you want, based on personnel and down and distance is not fluke. Unlilely? Yes! Fluke? NO! The play was drawn up and executed EXACTLY as planned.

I don't get people that think that was a fluke play. He'll, we called a time out so we could change our personnel. Saban made a rare mistake by not recognizing it and putting some athletes on the field.

If our dumbass coaching staff had us in punt safe (as we should have been in that desperation situation for FSU with the obvious field position to try it) we would have stuffed it, and waltzed into the end zone for a 31-3 halftime lead.

Special teams coaching mistakes cost us that game.

A play nicknamed "The Prayer at Jordan Hare" wasn't a fluke?

Ok...

The prayer was a fluke.

It also saved Gus's arse as Georgia scored a TD with less than a minute left in the game after Auburn hit self-destruction mode the whole second half.
