Over the last 25 years-- quarter century---since that last NC --the only thing Bama is equal to in the series is a 12-12-1 split head to head with LSU.
In every other imaginable factor, LSU is better.
Since that glorious year, LSU has won more NCs, more SEC titles, more bowl games, and have finshed in the top 5 many, many more times.
This is not 4 years, or 7 years.
It's 25 years, gumps.
Most people 25 and younger pretty much know LSU has been the better program in their lifetime.
Kids under the age of 17 think you're irrevelent, and LSU owns you. Some kids in high schools these
days didn't even know you had a history. Teams like Florida, Miami, LSU, USC, Oklahoma and Texas
are who they talk about.
Kids who are in grammer school didn't even think you were the state program until this past year.
And it makes sense to them...since LSU has
beaten bama more rimes than Bama since their
last NC, when Bill Clinton was in his first term.
No way in hell does Bama win the SEC next year.
LSU is beyond loaded in 2010 and 2011. UF shows up on your schedule by then as well.
You guys, honestly, just blew you wad this year.
Like Ole Miss did in 2003.
The "once every now and then that occured, much like Arkansas in 2006 and Ole Miss in 2003 and Bama in 1999, has happened.
Poor bama geezers. Park themselves on a LSU board, brag about their golden years and then
cry when LSU fans whack them with the truth.
Proper order in the new millenium will be restored in 2009, courtesy of the new millenium standard of the SEC West. The same team that's been pretty much in charge for a decade now. And when it does happen, Les Miles, LSU and every LSU fan will once again refer to you as irrelevent.
Enjoy the morsels, and keep looking at that old dusty trpohy case for inspiration.

I will freak out like no other. After all, we are Alabama. That would put a kink in the process...
We should never, ever lose.

We should never, ever lose.

I see you are continuing to modify your argument, since you got completely owned with your previous statements.

BT4, No matter how you type it out, the only reason ANY of the stats you quote are even relevant are b/c Nick Freakin Saban came to LSU in the year 2000. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in LSU's past that would indicate that anything that has gone on since 2000 is the norm, as you state. Before 2000:
LSU had won 1 Recognized National Championship in 1958.
LSU had 1 Undefeated season dating back to 1900.
LSU had 5 AP Ranked Top 5 Teams.
LSU had won 14 bowl games.
LSU had won 0 SEC West Titles.
LSU had won 7 SEC Titles.
LSU was 16-42-5 against Bama.
LSU was 611-356-47 All Time.
Bama before 2000:
Bama had won 7 Recognized National Championships (I started at 61 b/c I don't want to hear your bitchin).
Bama had 10 Undefeated Seasons dating back to 1900.
Bama had 18 AP Ranked Top 5 Teams.
Bama had won 28 Bowl Games.
Bama had won 5 SEC West Titles.
Bama had won 21 SEC Titles.
Bama was 42-16-5 against LSU.
Bama was 734-268-43 All Time.
Now, with that said, PLEASE stop with this ridiculous argument that the two schools were on about the same level with each other historically. I just proved to you that they weren't.
Ok. Yes this millenium, these past 9 years, LSU has been the much more dominant program. This is not debatable. Agreed. Nick Saban completely turned the LSU program around. Les Miles was able to reap the benefits of it. Take nothing away from him, he has done an excellent job. I think the idiots that say he won with Saban's recruits was a joke, however, he did himself no favors in that regard by completely stinking it up the first year all of Saban's guys were gone. I'm calling that a coincindence. Nuff said on that.
Now to your idiotic statement that what happened this year was our pipedream year. It is a pipedream for you to think that. Last year was the 2nd least talented team Coach Saban will ever put on the field at the Capstone. Like it or not, that is fact. Like it or not, but just as the top rated classes Saban brought into LSU mattered, you are a fool to think they won't here. While LSU may have been a "sleeping giant" when Saban took over at LSU, wtf do you think he took over at Bama? A freakin Titan, that is historically one of the top 3 programs of all time. The balance of power in the SEC West shifted, and it only took one year to do it, and you know it. I do think this division goes through the LSU/Bama winner for the forseeable future, at least until Cheezit gets AU back on track, and Ole Miss has an occasional run. Yes LSU has been in charge basically the last 9 years....well except for 08, 06, 04, 02, and 00. Ok so you've been in charge 4 years. Can't wait to welcome you back to Bryant-Denny in 09. RTR.
