I prefer a biscuit myself but I married a northern girl so we get toast a lot in the house as well.

Oh for shame? Wait, is Arky considered the south? Serious question.

As far as I'm concerned we are. We have the typical "go frick your cousin" stereotype like the rest of the south.

Googled map of southern states and Arky is included in all of them.
However, TX is included in a great many.

Arkansas is kind of odd as far as that goes. I'm not sure Northwest Arkansas really feels like the south. The south of Arkansas is as southern as it gets. But Fayetteville is like 30 minutes from the Missouri state line (I know because I lived there for a couple years and had to buy alcohol on Sunday somewhere) and Missouri definitely doesn't feel like the south.

I suppose. We fought for the South in the war. I grew up in a small town however that was most definitely southern.

We did fight for the south in the war yes. But some of the population (idk percentages) said frick the south and went with the union.

Missouri methinks is similar.

Kentucky runs a pro-style offense, the only exception being this last season where we had a healthy helping of the Wildcat with Cobb.

Who runs the most "pro-style" offense in the SEC?
Auburn. True story
OP meant NFL style offense; not NFL style player salaries.

My arse, that little corner of Missouri just to the north of us is as hick as it comes. They are NOTHING like the rest of the state and remind me a lot of eastern Arkansas...just a lot more Caucasians :) Northwest Arkansas runs the gamut from Southern to totally not Southern, depending on where you are. Here is my metric: in my local Wal-Mart I can by chitlins and collard greens, hence we are in the South :)

Didn't you guys lose to USCe, LSU, and MSU last year? Three teams we beat.
Have fun with FSU again this year, maybe you can keep it closer than 31-7.

Central, Eastern, and southern Ark. are undoubtedly" southern". We have Crawfish festivals, Blues festivals, tomato festivals, watermelon festivals, world championship Duck calling and duck gumbo competition, Schools are half empty during the first week of deer season. I spent many summers running yo yo's/trotlines and frog-gigging. My high school had a "smoke hole" AND a "dip hole".
I grew up just outside of Little Rock. Its Memphis lite basically.
In 1911 Little Rock was the host to the United Confederate Veterans Reunion whic 140,000 people attended.
Civil War reunion

That part of Missouri is definitely rural as hell but does anyone really think of Missouri as being part of the south? You have rural "hick" places everywhere but that doesn't mean they're part of the south.

Google or Wiki Pea Ridge Battle Field. Considered the largest battle this side of the Mississippi. It was responsable with keeping Missouri in a Union state. Had something like 30,000 - 50,000 troops combined. Very interesting read.
