A couple things people seems to forget about our school.
1. sam walton didn't go here, he actually went to the university of missouri, hence why the waltons go to school there and also why they donate a ton of money there.
2. I believe a big money man/woman these days are the walkers, as in pat walker health center, or the willard j walker athletic pavilion

How did he make his money, is it solely off of his dad's name? Haslam gets his from Pilot.

I'm sure his father's name has helped him considerably but the man has a pretty successful chain of banks in the Tuscaloosa County area.

They are pretty much all over Alabama now. At leat the central part that I know of, I think they are mostly state-wide now though.

Why do you care so much? Seriously?

Because you keep lying about where your facts are coming from. You admitted in your first post in this thread that you don't know shite about Auburn except what you have read in the last two weeks. And everything that you have read in the last two weeks about Auburn is a result of tuna's thread. A thread that uses decades old material, message board rumors, etc. to paint a portrait that is only true to those desperate to see it. Like I said, it's okay. There's quite a few morons that have swallowed this bait as well. It's nothing to be embarassed about. Well, actually....

Bryant Jr's big money comes from huge construction projects.

The biggest rainmaker for the university itself is Senator Richard Shelby in massive federal earmarks/pork. That is about to dry up big time due to the upcoming ban on earmarks. Expect tuition increases.

Didn't Bryant, Jr. just join up with Sexton and form some sort of Sports mktg. Agency or something?

I would think the "Lowder Business Building" that daddy funded ensured that his skybox is safe for good.

This. The Willard and Pat Walker Foundation is a huge benefactor to the U of A. Great people too. They do a LOT of good stuff for the people of Arkansas. They have been very generous to UAMS and lots of other charities around the state. Mr. Walker passed away several years ago, but Ms. Pat is still around and just made a large donation several months ago to Arkansas Children's Hospital. She can still be seen in the courtside chairs at BWA even though she is advancing in age. She also loves her some Razorbacks Baseball. They have a suite up there and go often.

The Walker family money came from Wal-Mart. He was with Mr. Sam early on. Mr. Sam made a LOT of people wealthy. Obviously, Sam's brother Bud gave the naming gift to the basketball arena. The Waltons gave $300 million about 6 or 7 years ago to the business school.

Actually, if I remember correctly, Paige (who the basketball arena at Mizzou was named after) went to Southern Cal.
