His freshman year was crazy, but hard to top Ron Dayne.

quote:Well, they shouldn't be. And it makes anyone, that does mention Ingram in the same breath as Jackson, look like a complete tool. BTW, let's do a little research here.
It just makes you look like a tool when you state that the two shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.
1) Alahunter thinks Ingram was better than Jackson.
2) It is widely thought of, throughout the Alabama fanbase, that Richardson was better than Ingram
3) So, therefore, Ingram/Richardson are both better than Jackson?
That's what we're hearing. And trust me, we don't take it serious. It's pretty funny.
quote:Yeah, and Bo's a legend, while Ingram...isn't.
They played in completely different eras
quote:I'm sorry Daren Bates came through, during the Iron Bowl, and made Mark Ingram quit on his team.
And Bo never sat on the sideline during his Heisman year
Also, in 1985, Brent Fullwood rushed for 684 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Tommie Agee also rushed for 402 yards and 4 touchdowns. And even though Bo had 278 carries, there were also 341 other carries that Bo Jackson didn't get to involve himself in. So yeah, Bo did catch a few breathers during his Heisman year, just like Ingram.

There's a lot worse than me on here, I don't flame every poster, I don't consider them flames, I consider them reply's to ignorant people. Carry on though, sorry you get so bent out of shape over text on the internet.

Bo was a complete badass. Baseball and football. College and pros. But you can toss that shite out the window when comparing two Heisman seasons.

I think most Bama fans would agree that Bo was a better RB than Ingram, He was great one.

Biggest snub of all time was Hershel in 80quotes and 81

It was obvious he wasn't going to be a big time pro, but prior to the Florida game, he did come up big whenever it was needed.
Ok, kid was clutch. That's the reason to give him the heisman?
Not only was he not the best player in the country, he wasn't even the best player on his own team. Ginn Jr., and Laurinaitis were both better than Smith.

It's not like he just had one big play at the end of the game. He was very, very good. Look at his numbers that year.
He may have been overrated, played bad defenses, etc., but it's not like they just gave it to him because he was the quarterback of the number 1 team.
I'm not saying Smith definitey deserved it over McFadden, but it's not like he didn't have any argument.

IMO, Bo Jackson was the 3rd best running back to ever strap up during a college football season, behind Barry Sanders and Herschel Walker (I hope I spelled his name right). Now, anyone claiming Bo Jackson as the best running back ever needs to take off the orange and blue glasses. That just wasn't the case. He could've been considered even more legendary had he not been injured nearly an entire year, but shite happens.

quote:
Larry Fitzgerald
the correct answer IMO
he was the best player in college football. he just had no chance of winning the award because he played for the wrong team
quote:
Ndamukong Suh
Also not a bad answer - but if you don't play a skill offensive position you don't have a chance to win either
