I'm sure the SEC does want Texas in their conference. Their program is in the dumpster right now. I can see how Bama, who we beat at home last year, would want tu. Also LSU, who is inevitably going to become our bitch for the next 5+ years. In the future you should be careful what you wish for.

Texas is in no position to make demands, and the SEC has no interest.
Plus, isn't Texas somehow tied to Texas Tech and some other Texas school? If they left the Big 12, those other Texas schools would be in trouble.

I believe that is indeed true, though I'm not very familiar with how those ties work or how they came about.
