South Carolina fans were very passive when the came here in 2009. Kind of strange for an SEC fanbase (most of them feel the need to share their opinions without being asked), but they weren't bad at all.

I was raised in Tennessee and know plenty of horrible UT fans. I know plenty of good ones too.
Generalizing an entire fan base is just ignorant. There are thousands upon thousands of fans for each team.

I was at the USC/Bama games in '09 and '10. Didn't say much in '09, but had a pretty good time. Bama fans were welcoming and kind.
'10, Bama fans were really nice until after the beating. I heard a few talking shite about the school, city, etc., but I don't hold that against them. They (and most of us) didn't expect the game to be that decisive. Hell, my wife is a Bama fan, and she was talking trash the whole way to Columbia, but was quiet as a church mouse on the way home.
As for the UGA fans talking about how much our fans suck, and how trashy we are, well, right back at you. I've never felt like getting into it with opposing fan bases either for home games or on the road, but some Georgia fans have certainly tried my patience. Y'all are bad enough when you visit Columbia, but you're downright awful in Athens.
I've seen fans from all of the previous 11 schools, except LSU. Arky doesn't bring many fans to Columbia, as expected, but I've always enjoyed the Ole Miss folks and most Florida fans. Only ones I've not gotten along with, in general, are the UGA guys. I think we just bring out the worst in each other.

FWIW I think our fans are great for the most part; at least the ones who actually travel/go to the games

We're so desperate for just mild success, if Butch led us to an 8-win season we would end up being more unbearable than the Aggies are now.
