I like to view it as more of a dynamic argument that fits each fan base specifically. The sec happens to have a lot of dummies

Great to see my Clemson - South Carolina post sparked some conversation. Anyway, since Georgia Tech is a much smaller school and the fact that most graduates like myself live out of state, Georgia easily has more fans.

Well according to the New York Times 
....
Clemson has more fans than LSU, Tennessee, UGA, USC and Arky among others. GT also has 60% more fans than UGA.
So its settled. GT>UGA

Not sure if serious... GT can't even fill their stadium for home games.

this article was based on a study using internet surveys, so the GT nerds are very over represented. when the SEC looked to expand last year, they put more stock in Southern Living's ranking of college tailgating than this research.
