I’m not proud but I was trolling an OM fan.

He’s also a gator fan.

I do find it impressive that folks remember such stuff.

Why don’t you post a single one of my posts where I said I wanted Lane Kiffin?

I have said all along he is a very gifted coach who is a narcissist, with enough baggage to fill a train. I have said he ALWAYS burns bridges and this latest debacle is further proof. Great coach, shitty person, will leave a path of wreckage behind him.

Your brain is only capable of thinking in binary terms. Good bad. Love hate. Black white. When most things are a shade of grey. It is why you 1000% loved and supported Kelly. Until in a moment you 1000% hated him and proclaim how shitty he was.

You are incapable of understanding that someone can say Lane is a very good coach, but because of his baggage he isn’t worth the hassle or risk. Your brain can’t think like that.

I posted multiple quotes of yours where you were very excited thinking y’all had him. All the information that you were gathering from your “private “ board of insiders.

Are you stupid or something?

LSU's likely going to end with Kiffin being fired, or if he has success they will likely watch him go somewhere else. Maybe he will finally change and not blow big games, recruit well and stay. Just seems least likely at this point.

You really think Arky’s new coach is a better hire than Kiffin?

Relative to the schools current place and state, sure. Arkansas doesn't have the expectations of LSU. I don't see why he can't get them back to being bowl eligible every year with the occasional better run. Gain more interest, maybe donors start spending more and so on.

Brian Kelly, who you all got upset with me for saying wasn't a good hire then, would be a good hire for Arkansas right now. Gonna win a NC? Nope, but he could get them out of the gutter.

Back in the mid 2000's when Alabama was in it's Dark Ages, I just wanted a coach who didn't embarrass us off the field and kept us out of NCAA trouble. Steve Spurrier turned us down. Rich Rod turned us down. We got Saban, but he wasn't the GOAT at the time and everyone said he was leaving every year. Hell if a coach can give me a single NC, I think they're great. I had no idea Saban was about to run off 6.

So yeah, your expectations and you current state have a good bit to do with it. I didn't even hate Shula because I knew what he was given and the circumstances around it. Best coach? Nope. But best coach for the circumstances? Pretty much.

There is a difference between best coach and best hire. Kiffin is likely a better coach than Silverfield.

Between Pittman’s buyout and Silverfield’s full contract, Arkansas has spent $43 million. If it doesn’t work out, it will hurt but is manageable.

Between Kelly’s and Woodward’s buyout, the penalty paid to Ole Miss, and Kiffin’s contract LSU has spent over $150 million. If it doesn’t work out, it is going to be hard on LSU.

It feels like LSU has pushed all their chips in on this hire. All in on Lane Kiffin.

It is easy to say you want the most expensive vehicle on the lot when it isn’t your own money. But if Kiffin fails, will people keep pitching in $50 million on buyouts every few years?

Kiffin could bomb

But right now you’re judging the hire based on your meaningless and biased prediction

You think OM or Arky or UF or Auburn wouldn’t prefer Kiffin right now?

Can your brain think like that?

I have said as much in the post in this thread. He is a great offensive mind and good coach.

I have also repeatedly pointed out Saban told him to gather his shite and get out. Everyone saw the mustard bottles and golf balls. Everyone knows the legend of the tarmac. But now that you are 1000% a Kiffin fanboy you can not process that so you just say it didn’t relly happen. You try to move the goalposts so Kiffin was the victim.

Again, you are a binary thinker. Everything is all or none, yes or no, black or white for you. You can only accept an answer on either end of the spectrum, when the answer to most things is somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. It explains why you were 1000% a Brian Kelly fan. His biggest fan. And overnight you became his biggest hater. The irony of being on the spectrum is that for many, there is no spectrum.

Probably the one you already had if you took that money and spent it on NIL, better staff or anything other then him and Coach O chasing arse at the beach.

Since you all believe the refs are for sale and the REC owns them, I bet you could get a few for 12 million a year right?

It's not my fault LSU spent all the money just to hire a guy based on him having a single ranked win this season at Ole Miss because you guys can't see past the hype.

Florida would love to have him and may have matched LSU’s contract

There is no way Auburn or Arkansas was willing to spend what it would have taken to land him. We have heard Ole Miss was willing to match, but I wonder if they could really match the salary + NIL guaranteed money he was promised.

So yes, Florida might have paid $13 million/season all guaranteed for Kiffin. But maybe they wouldn’t. There are just not that many schools that are going to be willing to pay a coach that kind of guaranteed money.

When you go shopping it is fun to window shop. And many people did Kiffin. But not many were willing to pay what it cost to wrap him up and take him home.

The crazy thing is LSU just tried this same approach. Hire a big name coach, pay him an insane guaranteed amount of money, and…. We saw what happened with the last guy. We will see what happens with Kiffin.

If things get bumpy Kiffin will make Kelly’s press conferences seem tame.
