Who does Georgia man up on Ja'Marr Chase?

It's an important question. Because whoever it is needs to be on his game. If not, the offense will roll.

Doesn't matter, we have 3 other guys.

Which is precisely the point.
If you know anything about DB play, if you can't cover the #1 you're gonna struggle covering everyone else.

Think we’ll probably try and put Eric Stokes on him. Going to be by far his toughest match up all year, but very much hope he’s up to the task. He’s a solid player, and generally the team we play will target the slot WR or TE with those being our weakest coverage areas. Then the other DB. Then Stokes.
But other teams don’t have Jamaar Chase.

It doesn't really matter cause he has destroyed everyone who tried to cover him this season. Including several projected first-rounders.

True enough. He threw Trevon Diggs around like a rag doll.
Almost felt sorry for him.

We don’t flip to match personnel so it will be any of the three corners unless he’s a slot then it will be Wilson or Stevenson.

The days of lining up your best (or any really) wr at a single spot and rolling the ball out there are over. LSU has done a phenomenal job of moving players around to isolate matchups and leverage them. If your coverage never moves or barely moves, you will see your worst coverage players consistently on Chase and Jefferson.

We flip boundaries with our corners. We don’t match personnel with the outside guys.

I hate to put it so bluntly, but if UGA does that on Saturday they're gonna get scorched. Maybe even by #6 Terrace Marshall; a dude no one here has ever heard of.

As another poster just put, you're gonna consistently find yourselves in unfavorable matchups against #2, #6, or God help you, #1.

Guess we’ll find out how it goes soon enough. Our backfield has been our strength on D this year and I doubt we change up the entire system when what we’ve done has been highly successful,

Yep.. Because Chase is the only weapon that Burrow has to throw to.

I can dig strength on strength.
We will see.
We will see.

It is crazy how deep in the stone age Georgia is as a program. Still running that archaic offense and having the defense go out there and play from a position rather than a matchup.
LSU fans know it well being that we lived that mold for so long, but man it's good to be playing against it rather than using those schemes.
That style of play can beat teams that are worse than you but won't help you against teams that are better than you.

This is hardly Stone Age. Actually causes way less confusion against modern offense. It’s not like we have any athletic liabilities out there. It would be one thing if CB2 was a big downgrade from CB1
It also helps disguise coverages, which UGA will have to do well on Saturday.

Why flip? You guys have been telling us all week you were going to beat us by 3-4 TD's. I wish we just wouldn't go to the game.

I won’t argue about the offense but your take on our defense is just dumb.
Stokes is one of the highest grades CBs in college football and the guys around him are all fast and big bodied 5*s. If LSU beats them it has nothing to do with how we scheme and everything to do with LSUs receivers and QB just playing at an extremely high level

You would think UGA going 11-1 is the greatest sports miracle in modern history if this board's input meant anything.
