1) Vaught
2) Tuberville
3) Nutt (pretty sad, isn't it?)

Well, if assistants count, would you believe we once had Bill Parcells on our staff?

Shug - longest tenure, MNC, most wins
Dye - dominant run in 80's
Tubbs - good run in 2000's, undefeated season
Seriously?
Shug was never a great coach, in my opinion--just a decent one in an era when coaches rarely got fired unless they were really, really bad. Dye and Tubs were much more talented, IMO.....

Already at #2 after 2 seasons and a 13-12 record? Interesting..

Doesn't Arkansas have someone better than a 13-12 record to make second on that list? Lou Holtz perhaps?

1) Paul Dietzel - put LSU football on the map, innovated use of multiple teams, delivered MNC and Heisman
2) Nick Saban - put LSU football back on the map, delivered two conference championships and MNC, erected Louisiana fence
3) Charles McClendon - winningest coach in LSU football history
Honorable mention: Les Miles for the 07 MNC. Sucking balls the last two years prevents him from cracking the top three.

Yep.
It is really going to be interesting to see how they deal with Petrino's failure and his inability to even match Nutt's record at Arkansas, much less exceed it.....
Right now, they are still in denial and still telling themselves that Nutt was the cause of all their mediocrity, when, in reality, he probably did as well at Arkansas as anyone is going to be able to do, assuming they remain in the SEC......

Saban
Miles
DiNardo
-IMO these three helped build the program into what it is present day. I'm not taking away anything from McClendon & Dietzel. But, i don't see how their impact on LSU's program affects the football program during present day.

Alabama isn't the same program without Wade, Thomas, and Bryant. One could argue the foundation that Dinardo, Saban, and Miles have built on, wouldn't be there without the accomplishments of Dietzel and McClendon.

That wasn't the question. The question was:

Who are the top 3 FB coaches in your school's history?
And Dinardo sucked as a coach. Really. He was a decent recruiter, and had some decent years, but he choked whenever anybody expected anything from him....like Houston Nutt.

That may all be true, and he had good and bad years, but he still has a greater legacy than any other AU coach.
