His statement is monumentally moronic.

This should be good.

quote:

First of all, no one is EXPECTING LSU to "overachieve", much less underachieve.

Ah. Wait, what? That sentence is nonsensical, even for you.

quote:

All the preseason rankings have us in the 2nd ten, not the top 10, so to "underachieve", we'd have to be ranked a lot higher than we are.

So, a team ranked in the top 20 can't underachieve? Again, nonsensical.

quote:

2nd of all, we have the toughest schedule in CFB next season, HITF to underachieve (relative to expectations) against our schedule ???

Um, by going 7-5, for example? Wouldn't you consider that "underachieving" for LSU?

Well then, cancel all the CBS 2:30 LSU games, LSU will play night time football this year!

I understand him saying this. I think both underachieve somewhat with Florida underachieving far more. I could see Florida being a bust this year and going 6-6. I say LSU goes 8-4 at worst.

He also said Wyoming would beat Texas to open up 2010.

Obviously he was wrong about this particular game, but was dead fricking on about their demise in 2010... preseason #4 ranking to a 5-7 season.

A few years ago on CFB Live special about the State of Mississippi. He was asked who was the best coach in the history of the state, he said Slyvester Croom bc he was the first African American coach in the history of the SEC.

Shouldn't there be high expectations for a team to underachieve? No one, outside of Baton Rouge, is picking LSU to go 12-0 or 11-1; we've got a beast of a schedule. Given that Schedule and huge losses on D, the general expectation, again by people outside of Baton Rouge, is 9-3 or 8-4. Is he saying we'll do worse than that? Otherwise, it does NOT take a genius to look at LSU's personnel losses and schedule and predict that they might not win 11 games.

That's scary when you consider his pro career. Man knows what underachieving looks like for sure.

How can we underachieve being ranked 17th and everyone predicted 3 losses?

Not necessarily. Auburn didn't have high expectations for last year, but they still underachieved.

That’s what I'm asking. Given the current projections, LSU would have to have an unexpectedly bad season. Is that what he's saying is going to happen. Again, winning the amount of games everyone expects you to win, based on the talent you have and the talent you face, is NOT underachieving.
