I was referring to Alabama snatching top players out of Louisiana.

Alabama signed the fifth ranked recruit in Louisiana.

LSU didn’t exactly lock the border down. Of the top ten recruits in Louisiana, Texas signed numbers one and three. Bama signed number five. USC signed number six. Tennessee signed number seven. And Notre Dame signed number eight. LSU got two, four, nine and ten.

During a coaching change at LSU.

Quantity? Probably FL.
Per capita? Probably LA.

Florida has 3 of the top 5 NFL producing high school cities in the country.

But one of them is a glorified NFL d league. Take IMG out and a lot of Florida kids get counted as their actual home states.

Crazy that this cycle Louisiana only has one five star and only two top 100 nationally ranked players.

If you’re talking per capita it’s probably pretty close.

Florida the state has a bunch. But between LSU and Florida, the schools, LSU has the DB numbers in the NFL and overall players in the NFL.

It does seem a bit light this year, but I expect changes before December signing, with a few more 4 stars identified.

Florida had the most players chosen in the 2023 draft. Players that played at IMG for high school had 2 players chosen in the draft. Even if you take out those 2 players that was originally from other states Florida still had the most players selected.

Point being Florida is loaded with great defensive backs. For a state with roughly 4.5 million people Louisiana does an awesome job producing players. But sheer numbers is Florida.
