If LSU did upset Bama and upset undefeated UGA in SEC title game it would be the best two wins of any other team in the country and would be the SEC champs.

And the Troy and Mississippi State losses would be some of the worst losses. If LSU does your scenario the SEC does not go to the playoffs.

Even if LSU made the playoffs, that 10-2 record with a loss to Troy is probably putting you in the Rose bowl as the #4 seed.

Tbh, if all the miraculous stuffs happened and we did make the playoff, I'd rather go to the Rose Bowl than the Sugar Bowl. You are right though, they won't give LSU essentially a home field advantage by putting us in the Sugar.

Not true at all. the PAC is a dumpster fire. Their conf champ might even have 3 losses. ACC may have a 2 loss champ too.

With the two horrible losses LSU has, do you honestly believe they would put you in over a 2 loss team from another conference that has close losses?
Do you think the SEC is anything other than a dumpster fire?

If that scenario played out, it would be:

TCU
Ohio State/Penn State/Wisconsin
Notre Dame
Clemson
(Clemson's loss to Syracuse doesn't look nearly as bad as LSU's loss to Troy OR Mississippi State)

And yet LSU beating Alabama and being a 2 loss team making the playoffs is perfectly logical?

Got a much better chance than the winner of the East.

Not by a long shot. Exactly who, outside of Alabama do you think looks better than Georgia? Is the west stronger than the east this year? Yes. But the entire east does not go....only the champion. And right now our win against Notre Dame looks much more impressive than your losses to Troy and Mississippi State.

ETA
But, if you check my other post, I said that under the scenario the other poster put forth, that nobody from the SEC would go to the payoffs.

Notre Dame will lose one more and so will Clemson. We would have beaten teams that beat those guys. The B1G is the only conference that could put 2 and knock out a 2 loss SEC champ.

Maybe. But would Notre Dames losses (a 1 point loss to Gergia being one of the losses) and Clemson's losses (one being to Syracuse) look as bad as your Troy and Mississippi State losses?

Wow. I can't even imagine what color the sky is in the world you live in. You still don't think a 30 point loss to Mississippi State and a loss to Troy looks all that bad.

Let me put it another way....a 2 loss Notre Dame team, and a two loss Clemson team will make the playoffs over a two loss LSU team. LSU lost to troy and by 30 points to Mississippi State. You cannot come back from that.

I’m not even going to begin thinking about LSU making a playoff, but I’d LOVE to play in the Rose Bowl.

We'd also have a win over Bama and SEC East champ SCAR.
