OU converted back to real grass in 94, was curious how many have fake grass and real grass.
Also saw this old post from Jan, interesting.

In the past 25 years, only one team has won the national title that played its home games on artificial turf that season:
2014 Ohio State

I believe the conspiracy turf isn’t safe, leads to more non contact injuries, and everyone should play on grass.

Sanford has real grass.
And I'm guessing most SEC stadiums use UGA's turf - Tifway 419.
Saw an article from the 90s that said OK uses it too - Dawg Grass

Nope. As of today OU is out with the Latitude and in with Tahoma 31. Yes, thats what SB had (Tahoma 31) but our groundskeeper had this to say about the SB turf:
“why the Super Bowl field is so slick. It isn’t the Tahoma Bermuda grass making it slick, it’s the ungodly high rate of ryegrass overseed that’s causing the issues IMO. The Tahoma is just the base holding the ryegrass.”
And here’s a good article on SB turf:

Tift turf is awesome. Developed at ABAC in Tifton, GA

Kentucky had grass at The Cliff but have turf at the new place. I hate it but I hate the "cliff dwellers" lost their home in the new place and it is just lost appeal.

Dang that's another Ok St grass I think.
We should have invited them into SEC instead of OU.

They’re putting new turf in this week. Not sure if it’s the same, it came from Augusta

It is a love / hate thing
Folks love fescue and it is what KY is known for but it is climate sensitive and terrible for the weather in CKY. I love Zoyza and other grasses normally used but they are brown for the first half of the SEC baseball season.
