How is Kiffin a disciple if he'd been HC of TWO P-5 teams before he came to Tuscaloosa?

Actually, if you knew your Bama-UTK football, Lane knew his FG kicker couldn't make that kick. He was hurt or something, or maybe they knew he didn't have the length on it.

But this was some kind of mini doc I saw or article I read. When Lane sent him off, one of the other coaches said "Lane, you know he can't make that." Lane said, "I know, but look at Saban sweating."

Yes...Lincoln injured his quad earlier in the week. It was a 44 yarder and he made a 49 yarder a month earlier, so it would have normally been within his range.

ETA...Lincoln was a tough kid. After graduation, he left football and became a Navy Seal.

Here is the coaching tree for Kiffin (who he coached for as an assistant before coming a HC).

Pat Hill - Fresno State
Sonny Lubbock - Colorado State
Tom Coughlin - Jacksonville Jaguars
Pete Carroll - USC

When you daddy is Monte, and you grew up around football, there are a lot of teachers.

Nick Saban is in his 27th year as a head coach and we are still talking about who will be the first assistant coach to take him down.

Where the hell have you been?

lol I understand that part.. I just thought it was interesting that a Bama fan was trying to discredit Kiffin from that group.. almost like they knew that a loss was coming..

I suppose Sark would fall into this same category.

He just did it to make Saban nervous. Funny as hell and evidently true.

Wish they had a mini-documentary on when Lane sent a Raider kicker out to attempt a 70 yd field goal or when (at USC) Lane called the same offensive play 3 times in a row from a 1st and goal. Negative.

Surely, there was more on his Denny's menu than that badly failed play.

Maybe that would explain his offensive genius thinking.

Most Bama fans admired what Kiffin did for his 3-year investment at Bama. Hardly any secrets about it. And frankly, Kiffin has been a lot more complimentary of what coach Saban has done for his career than that azzhat in Athens.

If Kiffin doesn't do it this season then Kirby will do it in Atlanta in December. Bama is destined to lose a game or two this season.

How do you expect coach O to beat Saban when he's getting fired this season or next?

Are you insinuating he beats him while coaching at another program?

I’m still not completely sold that Ole Miss isn’t fools gold quite yet, just like UK was after week 2. I know their offense is insane, but need them to play a good offense before judging defense.

Mullen/Smart - Both have been very close has to happen eventually
Kirin/Jimbo - Next level. Aggies just don’t have the QB to beat Bama this year good defense or not.
Pittman/Leach - Would be quite shocking but it could in theory happen
No one else really has a chance
