Don't forget Jeff Rutledge - took three different teams to the Super bowl
Sure I use the term "took" loosely

To be fair, the only Heisman trophy winning QBs to PLAY in a playoff game in the last 20 years were:
Carson Palmer (0-2)
Tim Tebow (1-1)
Robert Griffin (0-1)

Greatest QB to ever play the game.

Some guy named Peyton something or other. You may not have heard of him since he was never a Heisman guy and was so unwanted by the pros he stayed all 4 years at UT. He's no Ryan Leaf let alone Matt Leinhart (I mean Leinhart not only won the Heisman but dude has a national championship and USCw ALWAYS delivers when it comes to their badass first round pick -- they're a factory!). Still, I heard our Peyton guy carved out a spot for himself in the pros and has managed to hang around for a while which is always good to hear, especially since UT has never had a Heisman guy. Gotta always support the old lettermen who shed blood and sweat!

Most here are way too young to know who Y A Tittle was....he was nicknamed "the Bald Eagle" and didn't have many teeth after just a few years in the NFL. Back in those days it was like ice hockey...guys had arms and legs broken and eyes gouged.
Tittle was one of my favs...with the NY Giants he had some talent around him...Del Schofner, Frank Gifford etc etc. He could throw the prettiest spiral in the business 60 yds and hit em in stride. Giants had a nasty defense back then too, Andy Robistelli (sp) would rip your arm out of socket if you got near him. Back in the early 1960s the SEC was well represented at qb: Tarkenton (UGA), Starr (Bama) were very good. The NFL was not anything like today...sundays I watched black & white tv and when it was late December or in January...the snow on the field would blur all vision on grainey black & white tvs, even with aluminum foil on rabbit ears...lol.
