From the reporting on this story, I see no connection between the University of Alabama and the "gift". What they did say was that his godfather loaned him a car for a period of about 3 weeks.
The school said that they would rather accept the 1 game suspension now, even though they believe that they would win on appeal.

Head of the AHSAA is a big gay barner who basically said they could take the one game suspension or appeal and be suspended the full year while the appeal took place.

I wasn't limiting my comment of "the reporting" to the original post. I went to several other sites to see if there was any updated info. The godfather of the player has no connection to the University that has been determined by reporting to this point.
The school involved is convinced that there is no violation but isn't taking any chances.

I'm not saying that there was a violation, I was simply correcting what was said. You implied that there was a three week loan, which is incorrect. The "loan" had to be canceled after three weeks.

High school coaches in Baldwin county do. This is high school related, nothing to do with Alabama. A family friend loaned him a car and Phillip Rivers was going to wait until their week 10 matchup to turn them in and Jackson got wind of it. They are both area 4a teams
