2008 Florida or 2009 Alabama. 2011 Alabama would have been the best without question if not for the blemish and a lack of an SEC title.

Having the best defense in the modern era of college football is enough to rank 2011 Bama ahead of '10 Auburn, and probably '08 Florida, too.

Touche. There's just no way you rank a team that won 5 games by 3 points or less, won 7 games by a touchdown or less, and gave up 3+ touchdowns in 9 games ahead of this year's Bama team.
2010 Auburn had poor special teams and an abysmal defense.

2011 Bama was the best Bama team since Bryant so I have them better than 2009, and 1992 as well. 2011 probably is the best defense but I don't know about best overall team in the BCS era. I can't really say. The would have beaten the last 5-6 teams for sure.

Pretty solid list
10 AUB and 08 UF could flip because UF had a very good defense that season, was just loaded everywhere. I understand the argument at least, now if we didn't frick up against OleMiss....

Since our 2010 team damn near embarrased the 2010 AU team with a major beat down there is NO WAY AU 2010 beats the Bama 2011 team which was several notches better than the year before.

No they didnt.
We had some of the best coveage teams in both KO and punts. We had a clutch kicker and a decent punter. You must be thinking about a different year.

I know that this thread is about the last 6 years, but none of those teams beat '03 LSU.
