Heupel will do well to last three years.

Ole Miss is about to make him a top 15 paid coach and we are committing a solid chunk of change to stadium, locker room, and IPF renovations. There will probably only be a small number of jobs worth leaving for and those are all pretty stable at the moment.

Four years tops. Retires from health problems after elevating Arkansas to a bowl team each year.

I think he’ll be entertaining enough for the fanbase to make it 5 years.

Then the fanbase we’ll be like it’s fun scoring but giving up 35-40 points a game blows arse.

You have an inflated view of your program. Alabama or LSU? Sure.

No one is basing their success as a coach by beating the 3rd or 4th best team in the division.

Drink has best shot of the group. Good coach in the weaker division at a school okay with mediocrity in CFB; so long as they are relatively competitive in Ws or Ls in the aggregate, he can stay for sometime.

Lea would be #2 given Vandy has no football aspirations or expectations. But, he was a clear rebound, feel good, home town boy hire. That may work for him initially, but could fade quickly if Vandy gets rolled every SEC game and they can't win their Non-P5 and lesser P5 OOC game matchups.

But, like it was said, 7 years is an eternity in CFB.

Drinkwitz will be the offensive coordinator at Kentucky by 2023

Right, 7 years is basically a lot of coach’s entire HC careers. For example, Gene Chizik won a national title but only had a 6 year career as a head coach.

I think you’re spot-on about Drinkwitz being the most likely because he’s young, seems competent, and expectations are not very high in Missouri. Ed Orgeron is probably my 2nd choice even though he’s high-risk in some regards. He’d never leave LSU, it would come down if LSU will have him. If he can consistently win 10 and beat Alabama every so often then he’d make it 7 more years in my opinion. My third choice is Nick Saban despite being 69 years old.

Much more likely to be the HC of the Chicago Bears.

Very easily the best recent hire in the SEC.

for whatever it’s worth, I think Harsin will have modest success at Auburn and leave for an opening in the PNW region (Washington, Washington St, Oregon, Oregon St) in the next 3-5 years.

It will be in a better situation than it was but no way he will last seven years in the shape he is in right now.

He seems like a better fit in the west coast.

I think Harsin will be gone in that time, not because he's a bad coach but because it's such a bad fit. Auburn somehow hired the best guy they could find and put him in the worst possible situation for him to thrive in. Auburn isn't a bad job and Harsin isn't a bad coach, but when his entire career was in the Pacific Northwest and you take him to east Alabama where he has no recruiting ties, at a point when Auburn's talent level has ebbed to a multi-year low, it just looks like a recipe for disaster.

When he was the OC at Texas, I remember liking him and thought he was pretty creative at the time with motion and making the defense defend the whole field. I always read that he had one of his hands tied behind his back due to Mack wanting to run the ball more, which is why he quickly left at the first chance he got.

One thing that I know for sure.. Harsin always had a bag of sexy trick plays that always seemed to work. Idk if he or Petersen called the trick plays against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, but that was fun to watch. He needs guys that have a high football IQ.

If he is given time to establish his system with his guys, he could be pretty good imo.. That being said, I don’t think he will be better than Gus.

Beamer will be the first to go. He's just a placeholder coach until SC can find a suitable replacement for Muschamp... and it will probably be another Florida reject which would be Mullen in a year or two.

Y'all love to parrot this. Tell me what job is opening up that he would move to?

Florida seems the most likely if Mullen can’t get his talent level up to average.500 against UGA or claim an SEC Title in the next few years.

He would be on the short list if Saban retires unexpectedly in the next couple of year or if UGA or LSU suddenly became unhappy with Smart/ Orgeron in that same time frame.
