What if we do end up getting a coordinator from the NFL I could see a lot of the staff coming back, depending on what side of the ball he came from....
If we snag an NFL coordinator then they would have probably had some college experience. They'll want to implement their own philosophy and work with coaches they know or that their friends know.

Horton isn't a serious candidate for a head coaching position.
That doesn't mean he'll be given his walking papers. PP might be a longshot to be retained, but I don't think anyone is a definite goner. It's going to be hard enough to recruit in this situation; don't convince me that the coaches won't be giving it 100%.

I haven't asked the question...And I won't debate your answer... who should we have got? If we couldn't get a Patterson, I wanted to go interim (jls works for me) edit: mainly for hog fans...
Exactly. Eat the "shite sandwich" now and avoid being stuck with a Dooley/Shula type hire for 3-5 years. Go get the guy we want in December.
Raises another question. Who is the guy we want?

I'm on the Greg Roman bus i'm completely talked into him. He was discussed for the penn state job. Seems like a legit hire, be similar to hiring the current stanford head coach.

This crazy a-hole has just the right amount of chutzpah mixed with a dash of complete insanity and a sprinkle of senility to keep the ship afloat. Hasn't anyone read Moby Dick?

I think John L is a good fit or this situation. Otherwise hire the guy you want now and sacrifice the 2012 season.

I agree, but does he have the stones to keep the pedal down and not pedal back when he has a lead, ala Nutt?

Moby Dick
I checked, and it doesn't look good, fellas.

The crazy guy dies but he goes out with a bang.
Bang = National Championship

Worst way to commit suicide? Swallowing a frisbee

Yes please. I rewatched the 2011 Orange Bowl between Stanford and VT tonight and it further cemented my belief that he would be perfect. That play calling in that game was a thing of beauty.

No guarantees but I rather have him than Fulmer or Conque.
