I don't mean to split hairs, but you went about this post the wrong way, IMHO.

Here's what you should have done:

"Bama fans, if both were available and in their prime, who would you rather have on the sidelines, Nick Saban or Bear Bryant?"

Meltdown. Confusion. Fear of the aftermath. It would have been the messege board eviquilant of The Zombie Apocalyspe.

Instead, you let them off the hook.

I'd rather have Miles.

Saban is a robot who prepares a game plan and if the other team interrupts it then he does not adapt well.

Miles makes changes and adapts when necessary. Add to that that the man is bat guano crazy and there is absolutely no way in the world to guess what he is going to spring on the other team.

LSU wins this one in the fourth quarter.

i agree they'll both be pumped. I just love Miles pregame attitude. They way he had the team pumped coming out of the tunnel against Oregon was just amazing.

As a Bama fan, I think I'm going to have to go with Miles. He's compassionate, fun-loving, his players like him, and he likes long walks on the beach.

He's not afraid of showing positive emotion. (Where's that pic of him Frenching an assistant coach?) I suppose after LSU secures an easy victory in BDS, Miles will probably walk the sidelines giving all the asst. coaches a jaunty ball tweak and a pat on the back for a job well done.

Saban == Robot. "Seek out new forms of life and sterilize that which is imperfect."
Miles == New Age Man. "Let's have a real good time."

I believe he said he'll have the TEAM motivated. Our players typically do not come out flat under Miles. He seems to be able to have our team play above themselves in big games.

And Saban doesn't?

Saban will sometimes blow the little games or we may come out a little flat against those teams that are considered "trap games"

But as long as he's been at Bama, there isn't one "big" game that we've come out flat for.

Clemson and VT in the Georgia Dome, 2008 Georgia Blackout, 2008/2009 Florida in the SEC CG

Dont hold your breath expecting Bama to come out Flat on Nov 5th

If I had to say who's the better coach, I'd say Saban. On Nov 5? I might have to take Les.

Saban because he's smart, always thinking two steps ahead and players respect and fear him.

Les because he's lucky and crazy as hell. You never know what he's thinking. When it works he's a genius, when it doesn't he's crazy.

If its a wild game I'd want Les, if it's a run of the mill (as run of the mill as bama and lsu can be) I want Saban.

Both coaches have brought their respective teams to this point.

Les will be more caring when LSU is out of timeouts in the 4th Qtr and his players start having leg cramps. His supportive words always seem to get those injured players back on the field for the next down.

Les won't whoop or cuss out his QB on the sideline like Saban will. This would be important to me if the QB was my son...otherwise..

I wouldn't worry about leg cramps. Too many fresh players coming in and out.

Miles is still winning with Saban's players. Saban recruited these guys in grammar school, he's just that good of a recruiter.
